At the Artist's Play Room, Jenn asked us to draw a pear this week. Although Jenn's blog is called Just Add Water, Silly, Jenn has to be silly if she thinks I could possibly draw a pear. I know they are supposed to be an easy shape, but I don't draw, sketch, or paint much of anything, much less fruit. However, I looked for a fruity rubber stamp and remembered I had this quiltlet I had made for a friend back in February.
So there it is, my apple rubber stamp colored with red, purple, and green dye reinkers that I stamped onto a portion of a dictionary page. If you want to see how I made the background using Staz-on reinkers and shaving cream, go here.

Ooh, lovely Elizabeth. What a fab stamp and beautifully coloured.
Hugs x
You may not draw but you have a great eye for color. The apple stamp is nicely enhanced with the inks you chose. Nice to see an apple among the pears :-)

Your quiltlets are always so much fun! This one would make a nice gift for a teacher with the alphabet letters & apple!
I almost caved and picked a different fruit, too, but I wasn't going to let a silly little pear best me!
Beautiful quiltlet!
I just love this, so simple, but so I can't even describe - love it love it love it!!!! xox
LOL! I was thinking about using a rubber stamp or collaging a photo. I am not the best artist. But then, I haven't gotten started and I think I'd have to enter by tomorrow, right? Ooops! This week has gotten away from me with feeling sick for a couple of days. Anyways, this is very pretty. :)
You are funny E!
I like your not drawn apple very much especially the way you inked it!

Amazing post. Thanks for sharing important post with us.
Fabulous post! I love the way you you outlined the letters. Totally get what you mean about drawing!
Gorgeous apple Elizabeth!! And, hey, I did say if you had to love another fruit, have at it, lol. I think pears got a lot of love and apples deserved a showing. Your homage is wonderful and very fruity. I can imagine that as a little girl's blankie!! Wonderful Elizabeth, thanks for playing.
Best,
Jenn
Well you certainly got round that one and very nicely too!
Love JoZarty x
Very vintage and quilt-like appleizing!
Lovely picture! Reminds me of a deep red, Macintosh Apple, part shaded - yum! :0) APR #15
I have tried to find a way to send you an e-mail or a comment, but since I'm not on Flickr, I can't comment on your always awesome art! I sure hope you'll return and see that I wanted to comment on and compliment your art.
Nice entry for the challenge, Elizabeth! You are talented in many ways.
I love your quiltlet and so what if you didn't draw a pear. I'll take a gorgeous apple stamp any day. I love the way you can put things together and they work so well. Love it.
Von.
I am an apple girl the whole way...actually like pears as well but I would draw an apple any day over a pear.... so I totally love this... and thanks for the link to using the shaving cream... soooo have to check that out...xx
haha! i know how you feel - i've never done food either. your apple is beautiful! i like the background, too!
I love your composition. Blessings!
Great quilt - they're always such fun but this is one of my faves. Simple but so creative. The apple is colored perfectly and I love the text left showing through. And your techniques are always so creative! Terrie APR#7
Nicely done! I think it's refreshing to have an apple in the mix. You are truly a divergent thinker.
Apologies for my late visit Elizabeth...but I'm so glad I made it.
I love how you take a theme and then do your own interpretation...you always seem to have fun.
The apple is fantabulous and I love the background too.
Maybe I should think outside of the box some time ;D
Have a wonderful weekend! Neesie (APR#17)
