A blogoversary giveaway announced during WOYWW

This post to remain above other posts until the close of the giveaway. Please feel free to enter the giveaway, then scroll down for newer posts. Thank you.

Way back in 2005, I started this blog. This was the ONLY post I published that year. And the blog looked a lot different back then, too (As an aside, it is still well over 100 F as I prepare to publish this post tonight. I wonder what the temperature was that day in 2005). It took me another year to fully appreciate blogging. Now I can't imagine not blogging. That's especially true since I am not on any of the other social media sites. So why am I talking about a blogoversary that isn't going to happen until July 10? I'm having a giveaway, that's why! And since I'm an altered artist, the giveaway will come directly from my stash.

At this point, I'm not sure what you'll get, but I suspect I'll throw in some fabric I've dyed or rusted.

It's also a sure bet there will be some alterable goodies like playing cards, puzzle and game pieces, tickets, and probably a laminate chip or two.

I'll dig into my stash of wallpaper, as well as

book pages and sheet music, many of them old or vintage, in order to find the exact right pieces you can use in your collages or art.

Of course, an altered art giveaway wouldn't be complete without bits and bobs of old one-of-a-kind jewelry and other bling I have accumulated over the years.

The one thing I'm sure of is there will also be a double set of never used rubber stamps and a dye pad, both of which I purchased several months ago when I first conceived this event.

And that doesn't even include my handmade and hand painted papers I will send that anyone should like.

I'll include all these and as much more as I can stuff into a flat rate envelope, along with a handmade quiltlet, made specifically for the winner. If the winner's country doesn't allow flat rate envelopes, I will fill a large padded envelope with the same goodies. So as long as you live anywhere in THIS world, you are welcome to join in.

So here's the deal. Just like with my AB class I'm teaching, there are NO obligations, other than you must leave a comment so I know you stopped by.

You have until July 10, the day of my blogoversary, to leave a comment on THIS POST to be eligible for the giveaway. Other than that, there is nothing else you have to do. No hoops, no commitments.

This is my way of giving back to a community that has shared so much with me. Thanks to eac
h and every one of you who have made my blogging experience so much fun.

hey Elizabeth,
I haven't visited for a while so looks like I chose a good day to pop by. Sadly I have fallen by the wayside on the altered book class, I will get back to it after D2's wedding.
It looks like you are having as much fun choosing your giveaway as the lucky winner will have playing with it.... hope it is me
Happy WOYWW

I was just thinking about your rocking horses. Weird. Fun blogoversary giveaway. Not that I need any more "stuff" but who can resist a giveaway! I keep missing my blogoversary. I think it's because it's in the midst of a busy month for us. What ever made me start a blog then?? Craziness.
Have a great day!!

BJ said...

WOW Elizabeth, what a great give away, I'd be happy just with some sheet music (really ought to find somewhere to get hold of some here) Anyway, you'll be glad to know that I have actually done a spread in my AB this evening. I had it sort of planned but it just hadn't happened but in the end the plan even had frames in it. (and that was BEFORE your lesson - LOL). Will sort a photo tomorrow.... BJ#4

Starting off hot here too :) I don't really use any other social media sites either, although spend a lit of time on my own scrapbooking site. But once I made the decision to blog, after the scrapbooking magazine I was working for ceased publication, so I had a place to share my work in more detail, I hit the ground running and never looked back. Sometimes I think I might take a little hiatus, but thenI think I would be back to talking to myself as my few followers would desert me :)

Congrats on your blogiversary. And lovely to offer a giveaway.

Happy WOYWW as well!

What a lovely and generous gift! I would be beyond thrilled to win, as I am sure anyone who does will be. Most of all, THANK YOU for not making us jump through hoops. I understand that people want to grow their blogs, but if I have to stand on my head, while counting from twenty backwards, while drinking a glass of grape juice, just to win a prize, NO THANKS! :-)

As far as the other social media, I am with you. I truly only go on if I have to enter a giveaway, I have no time or use for all of it. I found your lovely blog just recently and was so excited because I have wanted to learn how to do an altered book forever! Of course I am back at the beginning, but I am so excited that you are here, and I subscribed via email the day I found you.

Happy Blogoversary a little early, may you have many more years of sharing with us!

A blogaversary, a giveaway, how much fun. Congratulations. I visit your blog daily to see what is happening in your studio or your days out and about. I rarely leave a comment, sorry. But, I do admire your work and enjoy your tutorials. Thanks for sharing your world with me. Count me in on your giveaway.

congratulations on your blogaversary. i enjoy reading your blog. i really likef baseball nut ice cream, so i particularly enjoyed your post and project on that topic. you did a great job with the colors too. i definitely wanted to have a cone when i finished. but alas, where i am living now there are no BR shops. i have collected a few old books from the recycling center and want to start altering them, so i want to thank you for the tutorials you publish. seeing the step-by-step photos is a big help when learning.

Just look at all these friendly folks who read your blog, who love what you share, and appreciate all the free information you share with the community. You're the best. Who wouldn't love to receive a goody envelope from you? I sure would!

I found the IA challenge confusing this week too - they had some kind of double post thing going on. I'm sure you weren't the only one confused!
