I cooked a lot for my Thanksgiving visitors when they stayed for nearly a week. I made another of my Pumpkin Logs like I made last year. See here for the recipe I used last year and the problems I encountered. This year I only made one log, so I didn't cut it, saving it instead for my holiday visitors. I can assure you it is now all gone and was quite well received. In order to take a Tea Tuesday picture to share with you (you can tell by the lack of a tree on the table that I took this shot before Thanksgiving), I drank Keyhung, a finely cut tea from India that brews quickly.
I managed to keep this log intact, unlike last year, although it cracked at one end during the rolling process. Also, I took the easy way out this year and used
a Libby Pumpkin Bread kit minus the icing. I used the same cream cheese filling as before. However, the rolling process was no less challenging than last year. Now please save some time for yourself today and visit Kimmie for the links to all my Tea Tuesday friends.

One of my doctors has me taking Dandelion tea. All I could find was roasted dandelion root. Quite awful. But I promised to take it for a month.

I'm impressed with that pumpkin log. I remember getting swiss ice cream cakes like that growing up. Chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. yum! My kids want ice cream cakes but we can only get them from Baskin Robbins and they aren't nearly as good. Have a great day. Tammy

P.s. when I cut my oranges I use the sharpest knife I have and even sharpen it again. It's a chef knife and cuts like a dream
Hi, sorry if I'm repeating what someone else has already said, but I have to dash in a moment! When I used to make roll cakes like this, I would turn the sponge out of the tin onto a clean tea-towel, and score along one short edge which would be carefully 'folded' over. Then you get the roll going by gently lifting up the end of the tea-towel which does the rolling for you. It means there is even pressure all along the roll and so it is less likely to break. I thought everyone did it like this - it's not foolproof but certainly easier than doing it by hand. Yours looks lovely though! x

Nothing I Like better than a good tea setting... I am doing Japanese Lime tea today with little almond cakes, with ginger marmalade... sooo wish you were coming for a visit with that yummy looking pumpkin log.... we make Pumpkin scones here in Queensland, but I have never made a cake like that... will have to hunt a recipe...xx
Indian short teas are quite strong aren't they? I know my sweet Mother In Law adores the Indian tea ranges. I love the grouped candles and the ambience that you set for your tea and cake. If you ever come to my house, pre-send me a list of your expectations for tea and such won't you!

Hi Elizabeth, I remember last year's pumpkin roll, lol...it was a great story...right up there with those wood blocks (down below)
I think I cheated and used that kit minus their icing last year...there are no chemicals in that mix, so it's a good cheat.
