This past week has truly been a whirlwind. Bloggers I intended to visit, didn't get visited. Comments I would have left, didn't get written. Sometimes I can make it around to everyone (or nearly everyone), but last week became the week I didn't sleep, and instead shopped with my holiday guests, decorated my house for Christmas while my week long guests slept, and cooked more well balanced meals than I have had (much less cooked) in a LONG time. And of course that meant the internet and computer action were nearly lifeless, aside from the pre-scheduled posts.
Hopefully everyone will be as understanding as Julia of Stamping Ground, Lady of the Links, who says to get to who you can. And I will do better this week, at least that's the plan!
But first, this week it's all about the rework.
On my main floor craft room table is a rocking horse Christmas decoration that I bought new last year, but must have packed incorrectly. When I unwrapped the package, one of the horse's ears was broken. I was SO lucky to find it. WOYWWendy is pointing in the direction of the ear.
Using E-6000, I reattached the ear and all is now well.
Moving to my basement studio, I have a couple of projects. I am setting up a new Teflon heat resistant craft sheet. And I have dedicated a spot to my craft-based iron which now lives in the basement.
To the right of the desk are the remains of a rocking horse mobile. I found two of the strings had broken and the mobile had fallen from its suction cup on a window. In order to repair the mobile, I have to decide which thickness of fishing line I want to use in the repair.
As I head to the next desk, you are able to see (on the extreme right second shelf) where I keep my wind chime repair equipment, including several different sized spools of fishing line.
On this desk, I am getting ready to gesso a few wood blocks.
I finally decided I could work on more than one block, if I did the prep work in the basement.
And to show the approximate size of the room, I have moved my chair out away from the desk. I hope everyone is having a wonderful WOYWW and your desks are more productive than my two that are displaying rework.

I'm so pleased you could fix your ornie, just precious!
I love your art space, I could feel quite at home there! Mx
Poor wee horse... so glad you found his ear and have repaired him!! I had to laugh at the bit where you are deciding which thickness of fishing line to use to repair the mobile... only you would have various thicknesses... me... I would be lucky if I had fishing line at all!! Did you say you were decorated for Crimbo already? Nooooo, you didn't say that, did you? Already? :)
Glad you can fix your rocking horses and mobile.Just love your craft basement.
Have fab wednesday and great festive week ahead
Love n hugs Judex9
What on earth is tramp art? Maybe I would be good at it!! The matches are leftovers from making little secret drawer books for a swap... and I left them on my desk to see if I would be inspired to make them into something... but methinks they may end up in the bin... ;)
What a busy week you have had! I wouldnt worry about visiting everyone I dont think most people do (including myself I only manage about 70) - fabulous workspace there and well done on having a fix it week something I intend to do quite often but rarely do! Thanks for sharing. Sunshine Girl – No 4

'Ah, ze old craft iron ploy....'
What else could irons possibly be used for?? Not much in LLJ land, can't bear ironing, such a pointless activity...except when I'm sewing where I've found that ironing seams et al give a much neater result. So, I've been forced to Love my Iron, *shivers*

There are times when life just gets in the way of crafting :-) Glad to hear you had a good week.

At times something's got to give so don't worry about few visits last week. Hope you enjoyed your house guests and sounds like you did so much with and for them.
You are really settling in to your new space and seem very organised there with everything to hand. Great space and sometimes it's just good to start again as you had to do!
Love JoZarty x
Gosh I'm exhausted after looking around your worktop (s) how on earth do you keep track of all your projects?? Great space and so glad you were able to perform micro surgery successfully on your poor little horse! x
Hullo Elizabeth thought of you the other day, when I saw one in a book - from now on rocking horses and you are permanently linked. You are good at repairing and sounds like it is just as well - what an amazing room, good size one too. blessings and happy WOYWW! Shaz in oz.x #31

Love the mobile and am pleased it is getting running repairs - and the bigger horse as well. Your just like a little crafting vet. Could have a good rummage round your shelves - lots of interesting things in there.

Only you could have a 'wind chime repair section'. I love it. I'm going to make a foam banana section. I don't think a rework is doing nothing, indeed they can be hugely satisfying as ticks off the list. Sounds like you had a great thanksgiving week...love that you eat balanced meals when you have guests....I would be just the same!
Tee hee! I love how you have to do running repairs too - though I long to have various thickness's of fishing wire and a wind chime repair section! Genius! Thanks for sharing!
All those repairs. I don't think they are my favorites, so well done for you. I'm also make a project with wood, but it's not finished yet. My hubby is still busy with the paintings. I look forward to see what your is gonna be. Thanks for sharing and happy WOYWW.

Well done mending your little horse and the mobile. Like you I've been in "repair mode" this week (or "alter mode") shortening the sleeves of a couple of garments that were made for gorrillas. I love all your work space - and how lovely having 2 studios! Trouble is, if I had 2, what I wanted to use would always be in the Other One. Such is life. You've had a busy week! Hope you manage to get some nice creating done this week. Happy WOYWW, Shoshi #62
Great desk , great craftroom!
Thanks for sharing ;-)

your redo's are very productive indeed!

WOW - lots going on here today. Don't fret - I rarely manage to get round anything other than the few who visit me! And I'm still not getting much craft work done...sigh....
Thanks for stopping by! Morti #19
My first WOYWW and I'm almost embarrassed to share.....I have plenty of space and it's all a huge mess right now. You've got so much space to work and it's so neat and orderly. I know you just finished a big makeover and reorganization and it's looking fab. Can't wait til I can find the time to go in and restore order.
Shuffle up girlie ... I wanna come play!
Love your room!! Great space!!!
Julie
love your space's how on earth do you choose where to go. I am impressed you have a special place for 'mobile fixing things'. what are you going to do with the wooden blocks
janet#37
Shame about the little horse - hope you can repair him and the mobile too. Love the tour of your workspaces and look forward to seeing what you do with the wooden blocks. Have a great week. Elizabeth x #111
Sitting here eating the last of the turkey I cooked for T-Day dinner on Sunday as I read your post. Luckily I went to my sister's house for Thanksgiving and only had to cook dinner once when my husband made it home from China on Saturday afternoon! I hate it when I unwrap something and it has been broken in storage. Glad you found the ear and could repair it. Love all your space! Thanks for sharing and have a great week. Vickie #67
No wonder you're tired and didn't visit many last week, I've been reading back over your posts and I'm tired too now! Can't believe how mild our November was this year, although we do now have some snow. Glad you got the rocking horse fixed, can't be having you one down now can we?? What are you up to with those wooden blocks! And I agree that rose wallpaper would only be good in small doses in the tea room!
Hugs

So much going on. Even a Santa fix it shop. Sweet!
Wow .. good thing you found the tiny little ear. Your space is looking so purpose built a nook for every technique.
It's been a long time! Had to come and visit. I brought up the rear in the post, but seems the time zones have a lot to do with it. Enjoyed your studio visit! Makes me want to come and join you! Enjoy decorating for the holidays!
You were so lucky to find that little ear and to be able to mend it. It is a good thing we do not have to visit everyone every week, I would fail every time. I think I have managed it twice, but usually I make it to about a third of the posts, but I always get back to anyone who visits me.
Ooooo lots going off in the craft basement. Bet it was lovely having visitors, mind you sometimes its nice when they go so things get back to normal lol. Thanks for all the lovely comments you have left me while I've been poorly. Kezzy x
