Inspiration Avenue:Art Nouveau

This week for the Inspiration Avenue challenge, Maggie showed us examples of "new art," or Art Nouveau, which was popular from 1890 to just prior to World War I. I admit, a lot of the furniture in my house is either late Victorian or early Art Nouveau. My slag glass lamps (often called the poor man's Tiffany) are distinctly Art Nouveau. So I am quite familiar with this style of art.

My IA entry is a silver spoon with the distinctive shape and curvilinear design of classic Art Nouveau. I flattened and added an image and a tiny heart to the bowl. I added bits of color around the curves and crevices of the nature-inspired artwork in the handle using alcohol inks, but they don't show that well under the scanner. Jumping outside my normal paper or fabric comfort zone this week was a lot of fun.

This is a so pretty and a great idea...I can see a set of them together to make a pretty wind chime.
And BTW...I found your address in my address book of all places, lol. Not quite as disorganized as I thought. Your package will be on the way! ♥♥♥Lisa

Sterling idea(well, maybe silver plated) ! People are often surprised that it is so easy to flatten a spoon that they never think of using it as a surface to decorate, this is a refreshingly different idea!

It's so interesting to see a medium other than paint on paper - this is very creative and a great addition to the theme!

A lot of romance in art nouveau, the spoon is a fine reflection of that, pretty.
