WOYWW 121: a tag

I don't often make tags, but this was what was on my work table early Tuesday evening. Don't you just love the autumn light? This is part of a round robin and it's my tag that identifies me as the maker of the pages I will be mailing tomorrow. I used a jar of Bingo marker fluid to color the tag. It's a whole lot cheaper than Tim's daubers. The credit card was for spreading the glue.

Maybe you can see it a bit better, now. I can't move the bottles because they are holding the plastic piece (which is quite hard to glue) to the oriental text I added to the tag, as well as the slide mount which I've glued a plastic piece behind. At some point tonight, while my British friends sleep, I will turn these pieces into a small collaged tag for this month's swap partner.

Also on my desk is one of my cast iron rocking horses that somehow lost his tail when he got dropped years ago. It doesn't mean I don't still LOVE him, because I do. It only means I have him in a more secluded location, where he can hide his lost tail from curious prying eyes.

So what is all this nonsense, you ask? I am following Julia at Stamping Ground and showing my work desk, that's what! Please see her for the rest of the links.

Now I will be looking for Bingo Markers!! Love the idea that you would keep a damaged rocking horse... we all get a bit worse for wear as the years pass and it would be a shame if we weren't still loved because of it!! ;)

The horse rocks on regardless! Thanks for your great comment on last week's post. Sci Fi - where do I begin?? Asimov, Clarke, Greg Bear, Stargate, but my all time favourite - Red Dwarf. Made for peanuts, but one of the best. So very British in a lot of its humour but universally loved too :) Hugs, LLJ xx

And as for Fantasy, Anne Fine, Ursula LeGuin but my alltime No 1 Hero - Terry Pratchett, the man can do no wrong :) xx

A tail-less rocking horse must be even more unique than all the other individual horses you own. It was a very kind appearance to do under the circumstances. I like the idea that you are crafting away as we snooze and vice versa :)

Bingo marker...great idea! and the sweet rocking horse is kinda like the old loved teddy bear...the more of his fur that's rubbed off, the more he was loved...enjoy the autumn day dear E!

I cast my eyes away from the poor pony.
I too weight the glue with whatever is heaviest enough at the time. Very smart with the dauber.

i would keep the tailless rocking horse. I have a little glass horse from my childhood that has lost his tail, but I would not get rid of him. I saw him being made by a glass blower in a big shop in Bournemouth, more years ago than I care to remember. He is very special to me.

Have fun with the tag - I find them very therapeutic to make, much more relaxing than cards for some reason! Is that a picture of Doone I can spy in the background?

OK... now I know I need to go to bed and get some sleep... I am reading your comment and thinking... Elizabeth is 42 this week? Heck... I'm sure her birthday was earlier this year... Earth day... I made her a card... perhaps she is like the Queen and has an official birthday and a personal one... only 42 huh... and then it clicked...

Ah Elizabeth..if you think you're behind...I'm a day late visiting you this week and still haven't been anywhere from last week!! I can honestly say I have never seen such a big bingo pen..but will be on the look out now, such a great tip. I spy art by Donna in your picture. Aren't we lucky.

The bingo marker (or ink?) is cool. I absolutely love using repurposed things as art material. Of course thats what altered books are all about isn't it?

I can see Donna in the back...
Beautiful rocking horse, perhaps because it has lost its tail...
Will you show us the finished tag?

It's gotta be two kisses today, one for the little horse with no tail and one for Bleubeard (who usually gets a stroke from me but this week it's a kiss). Love that Bingo marker - when it is empty you can turn it into something super because of its shape.
Thanks for sharing - Neet xx

What a great idea to use the bingo marker fluid! I couldn't figure out what it was til I read your post. Can't wait to see the finished product!
I am having a giveaway and would love for you to enter!

Just for a minute there I thought you had been playing bingo whilst crafting - great idea though as they are definitely cheaper than TH's daubers. Love the rocking horse, even with it's tail is missing. Hope you have a great weekend. Elizabeth x #73
