I almost didn't join Julia at Stamping Ground tonight because I have not had time to visit my friends' blogs for well over a week. I've been busy with company and expect more on Thursday. However, I wanted to give you an update on my basement studio.
Where have all the boxes gone? They have gone to friends who wanted some pretty cool boxes.
They are gone from this side of the room, which is where most were stacked a few weeks ago.
They are even gone in this view. Lots of floor space, as I work my way around the room. Although the room is still not finished, I'm much further along than I was last Tuesday at this time.
For those of you who came just for the rocking horses, I see four in these photos, three of which I have never shown you, including this framed picture I received as a gift some years ago.
As for me, even my basement studio is hot. This is the 48th day of 100 degree F or higher (39 C and above) temps. Not an all time record, but it takes third place in our city's record book. Today (Wednesday) will be the same with a forecast of 105 F (>40 C).

wow, you have been busy. these shelves look pretty full, but you seem to be an expert at organizing! so glad for you and really feel you deserve a break...hope you find a way to stay cool in the heat...
ohh you have been busy - wonderful space
Hey there Elizabeth! The studio is looking fab, although I see you suffer the same as the rest of us in overloading our poor shelves so they bow in the middle! Hope you get to enjoy your space more soon, once the temperatures drop a little!
Looks just fabulous - lucky you - I have major studio envy! Hoop the big cool arrives soon and you can enjoy that creative haven...
Oh my word...it is STILL that hot? Too bad your studio isn't cooler because it looks like the perfect little getaway. It really is looking wonderful!
Your studio looks fantastic! Wish I could come for a play date over there.
The heat is the only thing I would not enjoy!
Happy WOYWQW
Awesome room Elizabeth! It is really shaping up nicely! I am wilted here too. I thought the temps were going down after a few days of less then 100deg temps but today it was back up to 104!! Hopefully not much time at these high temps. Love the rocking horses. Thanks for sharing.

Can't believe you have made such progress and in such heat - I would just be wilting! (I am sure you are too) It looks fabulous.
Wow. What a difference a week makes!! Lovely and organised, lots of space for creating :) Heat like that would cripple me, I'm definitely a northern cool climate sorta gal. I have no idea where in the US you are, but do you get really cold winters too?? xxxx
Corr if you fancy somewhere cooler - I've got a craft area that looks like a bomb site! Every time I get it tidy and sorted something else happens and a load more stuff gets dumped in there and I am back to square one! One day I shall have a dedicated room for myself - maybe. Lovely to 'see'you again, we are off to the in-laws in Scotland next week. It is lovely seeing or entertaining people if a little tiring :)
Studio is looking lovely ans spacious. :) And of course there has to be a rocking horse. :)

Wow it all looks so complete, well done. I have found a tiny little rocking horse and all I could think about was Elizabeth will like this!! So please contact me as I would love to pop it in the post a tiny reward for all the work you have done in the basement.
Here is hoping for some relief from the heat for you.
Your new basement studio is looking fabulous. Hard work really pays off! I sure hope autumn is good to you there. It will be such a relief to feel those cool breezes.
Your studio is looking wonderful, and I am sorry your heat is so oppressive, however, we would love a bit of sunshine here in England!!

Wow! I can see floor there! Well done for making such a fab looking room! When can I visit? Winter please I am not that good with the heat!
Thanks for your kind message. My father says thanks for all your messages!
Hi Elizabeth, I didn't think when I was putting my post together that, of course, that folks in the US wouldn't know what A4 sized paper was ... my apologies. It measures 11.5" x 8.25" - and is the most usual size in office/commercial use here in the UK. I had no idea that you paid more to post square cards too. When we take our cards to the post office here they are tested for size by posting through a slot of certain dimensions - if they go it's one charge, if they don't they are weighed and will inevitably cost more. Any heavily embellished card is best delivered by hand, but if that's not possible careful wrapping/packing is essential. I have edited my post giving the measurements, for other US readers. if you can't be cool in a basement that IS saying something E...sure hope things cool down for you very soon! Enough hot stuff already!
You are really making great progress...that is a great space you have there and shelves make all the difference
Stay cool jewel!

You really have hot there!!! But your studio looks great!
Thanks for visiting my blog - I have not visited anyone´s on last weeks and you know why, but things are going better now.
Tuire xx
Oh but what a transformation! It's looking absolutely brilliant so far, and at least it's cooler down there. Can't believe your temps are still so hot. An odd thing happened in Michigan about two weeks ago, the bottom dropped right out of our temps and it's so cool over night that it feels like fall every single morning. There's dew all over my car when I go to work, there's beautiful mist hanging over the open fields and the air is so sharp and clear. It's September weather at the moment, Summer has left us! Hope you get some cool breezes soon!
Hugs
Brenda
Wow! What a transformation...you have come a long way. I have to confess that it makes me green with envy, so much lovely space and so many lovely goodies peeking from the shelves. Thanks so much for sharing.
That is fantastic, it looks wonderful. I am Soooo late this week, hope you have a great week, Shaz
Oh woyww the studio is looking fantastic. I was wondering if you have received the rocking horses I sent you? Kezzy x
