May and June calendar pages

Those of you who keep up with my blog know that I lost my art journal when I went to California. So, for the entire month of April, probably my most important month as far as events are concerned, I was without a monthly calendar. I finally prepped a new spiral notebook, using lots of colors. So here I am starting my second, and hopefully last journal this year. And while you're admiring (or NOT) these pages, be sure to check out some really good pages at Kate's blog, The Kathryn Wheel, where she keeps the links.

Once again I cut up a calendar to make sure I got the correct number of days and correct positions. When I think of May, I remember the song "April showers bring May flowers." So I decorated the right side of the calendar with May flowers, cut from an old magazine. I probably should start trying to make these pages look a bit more artistic, but I've just not been making art lately, so I was happy that I even got this far.

Sorry I have to show these pages individually. I still don't know how to stitch two pages together in Photoshop. This is the left page

and the right one.

I took a HUGE leap for June and created my own little squares and numbers. I didn't leave myself much room to decorate these pages, but hopefully the words I write will be colorful enough. OK, that's probably not the case, so I'll try to come up with something to decorate these pages with before the end of June.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I am still unable (after nearly a week) to leave a comment on any blog that doesn't have a pop-up window because there is no comment box for me to write in. It is frustrating, because I've tried many things, including sending a message to blogger. In fact, I unchecked the "keep me signed in" box the first day and it didn't help at all. My apologies if I don't leave a comment. It's only because I have no place to write anything.

I have had this problem too, sometimes it opens and I can start to type but then it doesn't save it and sometimes the comment box just doesn't open at all. Luckily I think your's is ok...although I did type in a woyww message about an hour ago, that isn't there! (will this one be saved??)lets see.....

Your April journal page will be an heirloom for others to treasure far into the future. I love how you designed it but even more, I loved seeing how you filled in each block with your activities. May also looks cheerful and bright.

Your journal pages look good to me. I'm so bad at writing down anything other than appointments. Here you lost one art journal and made another to keep going. I think thats great.

I LOVE these pages so creative and what a great way to keep up with your daily life! BTW, I changed my comment stats about a month ago when a friend told me that a LOT of people couldn't comment in the format I was using.....
Have a great day!

So sorry to hear that you're still experiencing Blogger woes, Elizabeth. Ever since they went down a few weeks ago, it's been hit or miss.

Love your calendars! My May is finished, but June is still a WIP. Guess I'd better get gluing!!! Hugs, Terri xoxo

The way your comment section is set up is when I run into trouble, but I figured out a way to get around it..see if it works on yours.
Love the color in these pages, and I agree--a GREAT way to journal your daily life!

I must have missed or forgotten that you lost your journal in CA. I knew you lost your camera. Maybe that's what I focused on.
Anyway....I like these calendar journal pages. The concept seems very doable to me. But right now I can't seem to do the things I supposed to do so I can't very well take on more!

This is a fun looking calendar page.

I had problems with blogger to the point that I couldn't even make a new blog post myself. Try using a different browser (i.e. Firefox or Safari or IE7 or Chrome) and see if it doesn't make a difference. I found that I couldn't work in FF but Safari worked just fine. Eventually, blogger worked out the kinks. Also see if your browser needs to be updated. Sometimes it's the simple things that make difficulties. Good luck and Happy June.

Love your calendar and so sorry you lost your beloved journal. I would be livid.

It most likely is how your browser it set that is causing you not to be able to post comments. Check to see if you have it set "no pop ups". Most likely that is the issue. It's not allowing the window to pop up. If not in the browser check the setting in your blogger settings. It's in one of those two places.

Oh yes, blogger has been such a nuisance recently! I haven't been able to comment on blogs either! Grrrrrrrrr.
Your calendar pages are looking great, and I love the way you have made the journaling squares yourself for June. I'm impressed that after losing your journal you started your calendar again. Kate
