Scrappy journal made for my friend Patty

I'm still working on my One World One Heart "door prizes," although I prefer to think of gifts for those who stop by. Regardless, I had these pages scanned that I made for Patty, but didn't have them sized or cropped.

I have to thank Patty for taking photos of Halle's cover. Here is a direct link showing a photo of the cover Patty gave me permission to use. To get the package to Patty on time, I failed to take a photo of the cover that Halle sent me around Christmas. It was meant to be used as a pattern, but I didn't have time to make one, so I have Halle to thank for sending it.

I thought I had resized the scans, but apparently not. You will need to click ONCE to see the entire page and TWICE to see a close up. And I even checked to be sure they would be clickable, unlike my OWOH giveaway scans.

Page 1 also shows a bit of the inside cover of the scrappy journal.

Page 1 (two images up) and Page 2 (on the left) are from a dress pattern. On page 1, I sprayed color washes on my tea cup stencil that I made from a recycled plastic lid. I just turned the stencil over and stenciled (or wiped) off the excess color wash onto page 2 for the negative (or maybe that's the positive. I even got rubber stamps out and used on page 1. I don't have a tea pot stamp, so this coffee pot one had to suffice to symbolize our Tea Tuesday connection.

Face stamp on right side is on my handmade paper.

Page 4 is a tag pocket, along with a tag I made eons ago. Page 5 is a half page using plaid double sided paper and dark green textured paper.

Page 6 is the "other" side of the plaid paper. Page 7 is a magazine or possibly junk mail image on yellow green paper.

It's a good thing this is a scrappy journal, because I think I got Page 8 upside down. A page from a daytimer was the base of Page 9, which included the color misted crepe paper and paint chip.

For my center page of each signature, I like to have either a blank-ish page or one that has an image that covers both sides. I was trying to cover the holes in the page with the H2O watercolors. Then I added the bottom paper that matched the top and called Pages 10 and 11 finished.

A vintage image, sheet music, two rubber stamps, a MS punched bird and more color misted crepe paper complete page 12. More stamping, a book image, and a piece of my Staz-on and alcohol paper were used on Page 13.

Page 14 has mainly magazine images, while Page 15 is a half page. I used some paper that coordinated with the plaid on the back of this page and a punch that my friend Kathy loaned to me.

For Page 16, I used a coordinating green strip and sewed an image of a vintage lady that can be lifted to hide a secret thought. Page 17 is another page from a daytimer that I colored with Staz-on and alcohol. I love that the pages don't buckle under this technique, and you don't have to worry that a pen will be ruined.

Page 18 is the same as 17 and includes a "happiness is" prompt. I used a paint chip and book page to decorate Page 19.

The top circle on Page 20 is actually a gold sticker, but scanned green. I even stamped on the bottom half. I kept Page 21 simple, using only lined writing paper and a paint chip. I didn't scan Page 22, which is the final page in the signature. I will show it with the next set of pages. I hope to have time to resize the rest of the pages before I post them. Sorry you have to click on each image to fully appreciate it.

Turning each page is such a delight....I will need some time to live with it and enjoy it before I get busy altering it I believe...it truly is great just like it is. Halle's cover is just perfect too!

giggling, I love the journal, and I see that you pick up paint shade samples also. I don't go into Homedepot or Lowes often enough to where they have caught on that I am not BUYing paint,, just sampling the paint chip selection. I have though many times bought the mixed paint samples in the small 8 oz containers.. love those, .50 to 1.50 in some great neutrals works just as good as a gesso substitute in some applications and glue.
