Advent Calendar, Day Six

As we prepare for Day Six, I thought I would recap the boxes that we have already opened (be sure to click to see the whole picture). It's hard to get a good photo of these little boxes

and Day Six is no exception.

It is filled with some of my favorite ephemera: postage stamps. I always love it when I get these in the mail, and they show up in my art when I get special ones like these.

I have no idea where I found Naomi Adams' web site called Killer Bee Designs. I suspect it was when I was looking for others who rust fabric, or maybe someone who also do a bit of surface design on fabric. Either way, these are a few of the things you will find on Naomi's web site. There's also a link to her blog in case you want to explore her life. Right now Naomi and her hubby live in Texas (in the US), where she is a grad student. I especially like her small works, but her large works are notable, too. Hope those of you who enjoy fabric will check out Naomi Adams at Killer Bee Designs today.

When I first looked at the small black boxes which house your collection, I thought you had placed them on the wall. Now that I've taken a closer look, I am guessing it is a tablecloth where you have them displayed. I've never seen an advent calendar as unique as this one. What a lovely way to remember your pieces each year.

Hi Elizabeth...I am so far behind in blogging...I really appreciated you museum barbershop pics. Our barber shop is our bread and butter and it is always interesting to see any other shop, but especially old-timey ones as ours is vintage-ish.
Your dvent calendar is the best use of those velvet jewelry boxes I've ever seen...even better than what came in them, i feel confident in saying.
Truley ingenius and I am excited for the necklace box on the 25th...
