The Audition

I had hoped to have a tutorial today. In fact, it was supposed to be a tutorial involving fabric. Although the photo above looks like I'm nearly finished, along with a bit of help from my friend, Dana, it is not to be.

Instead of a tutorial, I'm still auditioning fabric. Why? Because I messed up so badly on the first project, I thought it only fair to try again, this time to see if I could get it right. And if I couldn't get it right, at least do it MY way, which I should have done the first time around. So today I'm off to see what colors play nice with other colors, then start the tutorial over. Some days it just pays to audition rather than create. Have a great Thursday, everyone.

I have no idea where I found this web site. I'm sure at one time, I knew the concept or the story behind it. I may have planned to use it during Earth Month back in April. But today, I offer THIS because I ran across it in my links folder. THIS by Dan Nation, a design studio which used to be called THIS and THAT, features the uncommon and overlooked items in fashion and home accessories. Have a look at the stunning photos and I'm sure you'll agree.

Are the fabrics nervous? Oh, the power to mix, match, and select! What a fun day!

go for the ones that don't play nice, it'll be more challenging.

I love the idea of "auditioning" fabric - I think I'm going to audition some papers later on now you've given me the idea! I can't wait to see what you make :)

Great link too - very intriguing photos!
