Tea and friendship

I'm going to celebrate Tea Tuesday with a dear friend I met at Kimmie's during Tea Tuesday. By now, I hope everyone knows that Kimmie keeps the links to all the tea drinkers on her sidebar. In case you can't tell from the clues, it's Steph from Purple Lotus Art, one of the Tuesday Tea drinkers.

I recently received a package from Steph all the way from Singapore. I knew from all the postage stamps on the envelope, I was going to be a very happy (and lucky) camper.

I was thrilled last Wednesday to find this lovely tiny tea cup with a not-quite-purple-lotus on it at the Asian Market.

It matched the not-quite-purple-lotus napkin perfectly that Steph sent me. I also bought a tiny strainer for the tiny cup. Also among the bounty of goodies I received was this incredible tag.

Steph makes collage and mixed media look so easy. It's because of the many layers of collage fodder she uses to make her art so special. I was simply thrilled and couldn't put the piece down. There was way too much to see all at once.

And look at the lovey heart that graces this beauty. It has been embellished with hand sewn flowers and sits on the biggest ticket I've ever seen.

Steph didn't stop there. In addition to some lovely tissue and collage fodder (including resin paper), she also sent several bags of tea, including this one: Lotus Flower, with the lovely flowers in it. How perfect is that? I'm still in shock and awe. Thank you beyond belief, Steph. I'm definitely drinking my tea and sharing my friendship with you today.

Today's blog is by a new blogger who drinks and reviews various tea varieties. Although I could get no information about the actual blogger, he/she shows various teas and what to use to make a great cup of tea. The blog, 8 Bit Tea has a wealth of information, even though it has only been around since mid-May. I hope you'll visit 8 Bit Tea today.

What a wonderful gift and the cup with the lotus is awesome. I love oriental tea cups and sets (maybe more than the tea)- although oolong is a favorite with food. Another fun post Elizabeth!
