Signatures for a friend

I want to thank everyone who left a comment yesterday. To say I am overwhelmed by your kind responses is like calling the Queen Mary a rowboat. I am so grateful for the insight, advice, and inspiration you have given me. And no, I am NOT thinking about offering an online class, as one person asked. Nor are any of these for me. They are all gifts for special friends who I know like to journal, or who might journal, if they have a book that is unique enough. And yes, much of what I have added to these pages is from my stash or from my junk mailbox.

So, without further ado (and with grateful thanks to all for being such great friends), I offer the first set of signatures. There will be two sets in each book, and this book is for a friend who has just graduated high school and is headed to college in the fall. Feel free to click on these, since I scanned them.

The first page: napkin over cardstock, vintage sheet music as pocket.

Today's blog is one I found during OWOH (see previous collaborations). I was impressed by Becca's art and bookmarked her blog. I finally went back again late last night and spent a whole lot of time looking at her stunning art and reading through her blog. I'm really impressed by her creativity. Becca is moving (or has moved) from Colorado to San Diego, CA, so she is not blogging at the moment. But that doesn't mean you can't enjoy her art. And she loves diversity, too. It would be hard to pin down an actual medium, except to say it is definitely mixed media at it's finest. Becca's blog is called Art Beckons, and I assure you, it has beckoned me.

OK, so I'm only first becasue I was last to comment on your previous post! Your friend is a lucky lucky gal, this is utterly unique and as I said in my previous comment, it's only the chosen method that comes anywhere near any other project out there. I love the 'prompts' from magazine articles and the second look that each page makes you take to check out the paper and techniques. Fab.

amazing and awesome! you go girl! these will be truly treasured gifts...as to your previous post, I echo all that was said. put your own spin on the project and enjoy. especially since you are not offering to teach a class, I think it cannot be considered infringement. we share our ideas on our blogs to inspire others, expecting that they will try the same idea. your honesty & integrity are refreshing and in itself is inspiring!

What a great graduation gift. And you made so many references to different things that will go on in college. (What do you want to be when you grow up? Homecoming) This is wonderful.
After looking at today's post I went back and read yesterday's since I commented first I didn't see what every one else had to say. I am glad I did, as we all were in agreement. When someone asks for advice I try to give them an honest answer, and I would expect the same from them. Seems as though we all spoke from the heart. We are here to back you up girlie!

I just got caught up on your posts and first- what a fantastic graduation gift! Such a creative and special book Elizabeth. Second on the matter of coincidental art- happens all the time! I see stuff in magazines that at first I thought I made (lol) and realize that wow there is another genius in the world- just kidding. The world is getting smaller and so many people have similar interests and styles. Always put out your work proudly regardless if something like it has been seen before- that's my motto!. Take care!

Hey, it's anonymous Gina again today. I swore I left a message here this morning but I don't see it. Perhaps I didn't finish posting it because my little dog insisted on being picked up and then she snuggled in for a little snooze. I was reduced to typing with one hand... and I'm not that good at using two!

So here's a belated WOW. This journal is amazing! Really really amazing!

I so hope your friend "gets" this type of journal! You are a very special friend to create a one-of-a-kind journal for her to record her memories during this time of transition!
