Blog award

I have been honored not once, but twice three times for this award. Both Diane at My Art Journal and Lisa at Random Veracity: Life, Truth, Art honored me the first of the week. Then yesterday, I was honored with it again by Patsy at HeARTworks. Please visit their blogs for some pretty stunning art. I want to thank all three for thinking of me and the very generous things they said about me and my blog.

This was so nice of Diane, Lisa, and Patsy to honor me with this. It took me several days to decide what you don't already know about me, since my life is such an open book (or blog, if you will), anyway.

1. I'm sure many of you know this, but just in case you don't, I have a Ph.D. in Human Factors from Wichita State University. My masters is from Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, KS. and my undergrad degree is from Missouri Southern in Joplin, MO.

2. I have no art training, formal or otherwise. I've never had an art class, either in school, or after I graduated. I've never taken an art related workshop. Everything I've learned has been from reading blogs, books, and participating in swaps.

3. I love coffee, prefer French Roast, and drink it with half and half.

4. I'm a trivia nut. The more obscure the trivia, the better I like it.

5. I actually LOVE to organize and decorate. I've had no formal training in these, either, but I've been told by quite a few people that I'm good at them. I think the two should go together, too. I believe you should never just organize, but make it pretty and functional at the same time.

6. Of all the design elements and principles, color is the one thing I'm good at. I can tell you in a heartbeat if two colors don't belong together.

7. I'm known as "Dr. E, Queen of Free" to many of my friends. Mostly it's because I use recycled, free, or found objects. Dumpster diving is my biggest thrill.

Once again, thanks to Diane, Lisa, and Pat for spreading the love. Now how can I possibly pick just seven people? This has been my biggest problem with posting before now. I would love to honor everyone. Of course, that would be impossible, so I'm going to pass this on to every artist who I've spotlighted so far this year, and all those I intend to honor in the future. That way no one will be left out.
