What a perfect fall day. Kathy came to Wichita and we went shopping. We had a wonderful day filled with fun, food, and friendship, but most of all, shopping.
One of the places we went was Mrs. O'Leary's. Kathy was on a mission to find a few art magazines, including the latest Cloth, Paper, Scissors (CPS). The reason was to read the article on Kayla Fujimoto, an artist I have said will go far and whose name everyone in the Quilting and Altered Arts business will know before long.
When we got to Mrs. O's, they told us the CPS magazine was not in yet, but as we were shopping (did I mention we were there a LONG time?), the sales gal told us that their shipment just came in. They quickly unpacked it and Kathy got a copy. Can you believe my surprise when I opened the magazine and saw Kayla's quiltlet: a quiltlet like the one I got from her in our Quiltlet Swap? I was nearly as excited as I know Kayla must have been when she saw the article. I told Kathy we HAD to take photos of Kayla's quiltlet, her article, and Kathy.
So to end a perfectly lovely day, here is Kathy with the article and the quiltlet side by side.
Since it's a bit hard to see in the above photo, here is a better view of the article in Kathy's CPS and my very own quiltlet on the right!! Not sure how much larger it'll get, but click on photo for a (hopefully) closer look.
And not to be outdone, Bleubeard had to come check out all the excitement, too. After all, he'd been cooped up in the house, alone all day, while Kathy and I painted the town ORANGE (yep, we both wore orange tops today).
1 thoughtful remarks:
you are too funny! I couldn't help, but laugh as I read this...
