This is the third in my bird series. The mother bird now has babies and is feeding them. I began by painting the mother bird dark blue, but it was way too dark for the piece. So, to correct this, I overpainted it with white gesso, which made it too light. Then I put light blue over the gesso. I'm not sure I like the bird and may yet change the color once again.
I also have an update on my Chinese New Year swap book. I found yet another year's worth of swaps today: 2006. It was so easy to punch holes, open the rings, and add these in their proper place. This is just another reason I'm so happy about binding these swaps the way I did.

"E" this is great also .... it's hard work feeding the young ... love your attention to detail on the nest .... Linda F
