3 ATCs and some backgrounds

It's been a dismal week art wise. Yesterday started a new AB with the idea of using only scraps. I planned to make it my Time book, but somewhere around the fourth or so background, I decided to just call it "scraps." I may not call it that, but something along that line. I'm not very good at the willy nilly collage backgrounds. I don't seem to have a good grasp at laying down different papers, then making them look good just because I assembled them that way. I always feel they are too jumbled, too chaotic, too disorganized. To that end, most of the backgrounds I made were blocks (squares and rectangles) cut from bits and pieces of paper I've hoarded for months and years. So far I've made seven backgrounds in two days. It's actually more time consuming than I imagined, so I'm feeling a bit unproductive, especially when I look at my zip-locked bags of scraps, sorted by color, and see that they have not decreased by any measurable amount.

In order to feel I was productive, I made these three ATCs below. Now I'm not good with ATCs. They are too small for my taste. But, here they are.

The middle ATC was made first. You can see I tore the light green too wide. I corrected that in the next two. Along time ago, I stamped these images on some of my defective handmade paper, just playing around with a friend's stamp. However, I don't think I know how to tear the paper to make her face look decent. I believe this is one of those rare stamps you must use directly on the final substrate. Her face really changes with just a slip of the tearing.

Back to cutting, tearing, gluing, and pasting scraps. And thinking about a proper name to give the book that will (hopefully) use as many scraps and gifted materials a possible.
