I can't believe how long it's been since I posted. Thanksgiving has come and gone, and I've had more activity at my house than I can seem to handle. I have to admit, it's been overwhelming, but now everyone has gone and I've finished some tip-ins I started over a month ago and have been gradually building up the background little by little.
These may not look like tip-ins to those of us who know tip-ins, but the hostess wanted them to be 8.5 X 11 and folded in the middle. You still insert them in a book the same, but you effectively decorate the equivalent of four sides rather than two.
I had a lot of trouble with these, since I'm not used to doing them this way. I feel like my composition is all off, at least on the inside. I'm pretty pleased with the back side, which we were told should hold our personal information and the techniques we used. We were also supposed to explain what "Life Lessons" meant to us.
The above picture is the inside of the piece. I feel it needs something, but I have no idea what. This is the one I'm keeping, but they are all basically the same. YES, I used rubber stamps, mostly some I got at a garage sale or at River City Rubber this summer. If anyone has an idea about how I can improve this, please let me know. Be aware it has to fold in the center. Click on the image for a better view.
Above is a picture of the outside. It's sort of obvious where the piece will be folded. If you want to read my Life Lessons Learned or L cubed, click on the picture. It should be clear. Since I was a mathematician in a previous life, I used symbols and stamps that reflect that.

Love your life lessons ... they are all so true .... you inside piece is good the only thing I might suggest is a bold something (possibly black) line, stitch marks, staples, fiber, maybe something like that to ground the piece ...... again it is yours and you are the only one it has to please .... and seeing it in real life is different from a photo .....
