I won't be drinking any tea from my herb garden today
because the tea has to dry a bit before I can use it.
I bought this at Herb Day earlier this year, specifically so I could share some tea with my friend Patty. Can you see what I'll be harvesting soon?
It's German Chamomile. Now I'm not a big fan of chamomile, but I will make some to honor friendship.
Won't you join us for T today? It's a friendship "thing" and will be fun to see what you're up to.
Please remember, you don't have to drink tea, you don't have to drink ANYTHING as long as you show a mug or cup or bottle or ??? that implies drinking. Tell a good story, add a photo or six, shoot it/them any day (or night), then link here on Tuesday.
Why does it appear I'm really posting on Monday? This post goes live on Tuesday morning in some parts of the world. That means it's about 12 hours before the day changes to Tuesday at the International Date Line. I am six hours BEHIND that date line, so T Tuesday is nearly over in some parts of the world before it ever reaches my time zone. Thought you might like to know.
Now it's time to link below and we'll be around to visit.
Hello again, you have been busy this week. I just caught up on your posts and LOVE LOVE them!! Just saw your name over on Dawn's blog and had to come look and see what you made. How cute is this T idea, I'm a huge tea drinker and never thought to grow my own tea. I have also been drawing pots like these for two weeks now. Glad to see you have kept busy with SOC being over. I found Dawn's blog a short time ago and love her mandala's, soooo pretty and amazing each time. To my surprise while out weeding today it hit me that I should try and make one. Even had the little ones I watch help me gather stuff and start it in the driveway. Just like you said don't do it in the wind, haha, we brought it all inside and started over. I was sooo excited, it's nothing as beautiful as hers but WOW just the fun of it and having the kids help made me smile. I LOVE LOVE the one you made below, so pretty and lots of green like mine. Hoping to post it very soon on my blog, hope you can come check it out. I like your T idea here and might try to do that next week. Will give me good practice on drawing teacups or teabags or something I guess. Should be fun. I know this is long already, had so much to say. But I saw and LOVE your SOC book, it looks wonderful and so pretty. I like to use paint chips and making houses is a favorite of mine too. BEAUTIFUL!!
Ok, now that I wrote you a book I must go and get things done. Hope to see you soon and YAY now we can do Mandala's together.
Morning E!! I'm first again!! LOL It's now mid morning Tuesday here in not so sunny Brisbane! I can't wait to see what your own tea tasted like! I would never think of doing that... how many plants do you need to make a cup?
Well how like you to make your own tea for a friend. My word, I hope it's more successful than the Acorn coffee we made as kids! Must now proceed to catch up with your blog..these days I'm mostly in catch up mode!
Hello, thanks so much for the visit again to my blog. I am so glad we met up again and especially to share new fun things. Thank you sooooo much for your kind words on my scrapping, means a lot to me. My storytelling is such a big part of me for years before I dived into this art world. Oh dear, I didn't think about others reading my blog and mixing my daughter's name up with the season. I'm glad you finally figured it out, lol. She is the sweetest part of my summer days, born in a hot hot July 15 years ago and can't stand her name. I'm glad you came back to visit me again, with the kids still home my blogging isn't very regular but I'm hoping to do more now or at least soon when school starts back up. I just posted my mandala and another PL story so come by and visit again please if you can. Hoping to come by later and check out these link ups for your T week. Have a wonderful day!
Hello dear Elizabeth ... growing your own Chamomile! how great is that!
That is a great tea for helping you drift off to sleep, I usually add a gob of honey when I do have a cup now and then. It is great for an upset stomach too ala Peter Rabbit ;) One of my favorite homeopathic creams happens to be chamomile too!
Well you really got me going there hah...
I promised to have a MUCH shorter post this week than last weeks Lotuses...
I love Chamomile! I have been trying to grow it here in Tennessee for years without success. I had some gorgeous plants in N. Dakota of all places. What is it about Tennessee and this plant for me?? I will try again next year. Success is in my future. I like to mix my Chamomile with Spearmint and Lemongrass--YUM EEEEE, I swear. It is the bomb! Happy T day ~Dawn
I'm not a fan of chamomile either but good for you for attempting to grow your own tea. Your herbs are looking good. I've been using my basil, thyme and flat leaf parsley. Love what fresh herbs do for recipes!! Happy Tuesday!!
I picked up on this posting from Julia's post today. I reckon that next year, when the house is sorted, I am turning my attention to the garden, which will include a lot of herbs. I lost most of mine over the past 12 months, but I used to make my own mint tea, lemon balm and chamomile. I also grew my own ginger last year and harvested the root, which was good as I love ginger in so many things. Sorry my drink is a bit on the boring side, but it is what I am drinking most of the time at the moment. Have a good week. xx Maggie
Happy Tea-Time! For once there IS tea in my cup although I know I'll never get used to 'no sugar' and still long for my 3-5 spoonfuls! You've been very busy in the garden. I'm indoors, as at the moment it's raining (about time too!) although we are promised very hot weather is on the way!
stopped by for T today, and enjoying the sunshine in your garden. unfortunately I can't join the party this week, but will try to visit some of your 'partiers' as I can...have fun!
I've never tried to grow tea, although I did grow a tobacco plant once. I don't smoke but after visiting a Virginia Plantation, I bought it in a gift shop and wanted to try it out! Happy T Tuesday!
I had no idea you were running a T post, as I am a lover of Tea I will certainly join in if I can remember lol. Most of my WOYWW posts feature my cup of tea anyway lol. See you next Tuesday Bridget from Australia

Bleubeard and I welcome you
Art, including the journey, background techniques, sewing on both paper and fabric, new experiments, photos, failures, and successes will be shared on this site. I have removed my e-mail address until such time as I can get it to work again. Thank you for understanding. You can always leave a note on my blog and I will visit you.
Please check out my Previous Collaborations link above to see what projects I have been involved in over the past 12 years. Current and ongoing projects only are shown below.
Occasionally, Silent Sunday will showcase photos of my home, neighborhood, or community. A picture is often worth a thousand words.
Feelfree to drop by every second Thursday of the month for my Second Thursday Tutorials. They are interspersed with my other Tutorials found at the link page above.
Click on any lesson you might have missed or want to review
Click on the above image daily and help feed hungry dogs and cats. You can donate cat litter, too. You simply answer two questions (one about cats and one about dogs), and whether your answer is correct or not, you have just donated kibble to help feed both shelter animals and those in need.
I will create the art, critique things I feel are important, and put pen (and sometimes glue) to paper, or fingers to keys, while Bleubeard will mostly watch, supervise, or sleep.
