January, 2025 and a new calendar

My dear friend RO! fessed up that she sent me the calendar I will be using for the next 18 months.

I have a new calendar.  It is LARGE.  Too large for the scanner, so I will need to photograph it each month.  In keeping with Art Journal Journey, our host and co-administrator Mia of Craftartista has chosen Dots as her theme.  You can see I've added dots to the page.  We also have a holiday this month, which is MLK Jr Day.  It is one of our official federal holidays every year.

Thank you for visiting today.  I appreciate it more than you know.

...it's hard to image that the month is half over!

MLK Day is next week… I’ve been wondering when it would fall this year. I wish more of his goals were continuing to be reached. Sometimes I fear that we are losing some of the gains that were made under his leadership.
Enjoy your new calendar… mae at maefood.blogspot.com

Those are fun dots. And I agree with Tom, it's hard to believe it is already mid-January. I expected this to be such a long slow month, and it's not. That was a great gift!

RO is a wonderful person and I miss her blog.
Love the gift she gave you.

What a lovely gift even if it means taking a photo each month you have the calendar just waiting to be decorated. That means you have no excuse to not join in with AJJ and the theme each month.
Hope you are well and happy.
Hugs, Neet xxx

Fun use of dots - I may have to try this. So glad I looked at your calendar and can see next week is MLK day which I completely forgot about! Hugz

January hasn't been all that cold, compare to other years.

Dear Elizabeth,
is this a special calendar because you write that you will use it for the next 18 months? Or will you be doing something with the calendar for another six months after the "normal" 12 months?

I'm here today mainly to thank you for your lovely comment on my previous post. Your comment reached me without any problems, even though you got "failed to publish." You wrote to me again that you couldn't translate my post. Is my translate button in the sidebar not working? Please let me know.

However: I will now tell you the history of the rocking horse that I show in the post: It has been in the family for 50 years. It belonged to my aunt (actually my mother's cousin) Sigrun and her 5 children and 8 grandchildren. One day she asked me if I wanted the horse for my grandson because her grandchildren had already grown too big. My grandson Jamie LOVED this horse, it was always the first thing he did when he was with us: a little "ride" on the rocking horse! But then his interest waned. And so I asked Jamie if it was okay for him if the rocking horse moved on - to my youngest nephew's older son. And Jamie generously said yes. My great-nephew Emil also loves the horse very much. And after that his little brother Jonas will get it.

I haven't linked my latest post on T-Day yet. I won't be at my PC next week either. But you will get the post linked in two weeks, I hope that's okay for you. In any case, I send you my warmest regards!
All the best from Austria, Traude
