It's Friday, which means it's time to join Friday Smiles, hosted by Annie (at A Stitch in Time). Let's visit Annie and the other wonderful ladies who also share their smiles each Friday. Most of the ladies who join Friday Smiles spread their story over the entire week. Not so today. Everything you will read about happened on Tuesday.
Those of you who are long time visitors to my blog will remember in 2020 as I was mowing, a rock flew up and hit me in the eye. The eye doctor to whom I was referred took all kinds of tests and determined the retina was intact and I should be fine.
It started when I visited my eye doctor last month. She thought she saw
something on my retina she didn't like, so she sent me to the eye
specialist I saw before. The specialist spent about two hours with me. He put eye drops in my left eye six times and twice in my right eye. He even did something with my lower lid, but I was so out of it, I had no idea what it was. He wants to see me again in a month, so I'll update you as soon as I know something.
Even though I couldn't see a thing, I still fulfilled my obligation to vote for mayor, BOE, and city council person.
Then it was off to Great Clips, where Sally thought we could get in quickly and get our hair cut. I paid $18.00 (USD) for the haircut and left a $2.00 tip. Not the worst haircut I have ever gotten, but certainly not in the top 10. Not worth the $20.00 I forked over.
Sally had coupons for Burger King, so I got a crispy chicken sandwich and fries.
Although I was unable to see anything for nearly two days, my eyes are finally starting to focus again. Images 1, 3, and 4 are from the internet. Image 2 was my own.
Now for a bit of cat humor.
I think this is the perfect place to stop this week. Thanks for visiting. Bleubeard and I would love to see you at Friday Smiles, too.
20 thoughtful remarks:
Greetings from my Cat Faarao
Hope your eye is fine!! Sometimes I´m glad I wear glasses...
And that Ingo can easily take care of my super-boring hair.
I haven´t been at Burger King, I love crispy chicken burgers!
Thank you for the cat-smiles, the first is my fav! :-)
Hi Elizabeth -- sorry your eye is giving you trouble. I hope you are done with the eye doc. I went to one of those cheap haircut places once but also didn't think it was that great.
You asked me if I had heard of some produce-preservation paper product. It was reviewed in Consumer Reports in 2013, and they didn't think it was especially great -- and it costs a fortune! I try to just buy what I need and use it up before it gets icky, and I don't waste much produce.
best, mae at maefood.blogspot.com
Loved the cat memes - and definitely smiled.
It is really, really time you caught a break on the health front.
Good morning, Elizabeth -- I'm sorry to hear that you're having issues with your eye.
Oh dear, what a palaver about your eye problem. I hope they soon find what it is, and pray that it is not serious.
Burger King is a place I recognise. We have one here in town (Needless to say I have never been there as it is considered a fast food outlet.)
I smiled at the cat funnies.
Have a relaxing weekend,
Lisca
...I just went to the retina specialist, I need to go back in a year.
Thanks for the smiles! Hope your eye is ok, might be a good idea to wear goggles.
Well, the cat humor is a delight -- but the eye stuff? Not so much. I hope you get results quickly and that they reveal a solution that won't be too complicated or painful. Hang in there, my friend.
Good luck with the eye situation. I hope it turns out OK. My husband goes to Great Clips. I go to a regular lady I've gone to for years since she knows exactly what to do with my hair, and even where all my many cowlicks are and how to cut around them. But she does cost me more than $20, but not much more. And I tip her well so next time she does exactly what I like again. Smile. Cute kitties today too. Hope the vision is coming back. If it's not one thing, isn't another lately, isn't it? And you must be so ready to get "back to your normal". hugs-Erika
Gosh! I hope your eye is okay!
Love the cat funnies, of course.
I hope you have a really restful weekend. :)
Love all the funnies! Sorry about your eye, that's not good. Hope it will get better soon. I always cut my own hair, they take so much money for a few minutes in the salons! I was at a Chinese restaurant today and came home with a very full belly! Hugs, Valerie
hope it turns out that there is nothing seriously wrong with your eyes. take care. I just had my hair cut yesterday, you'd be horrified if you knew how much it cost, lots more than the equivalent of $20.
Sorry about your eye, Thank you for voting.
Coffee is on.
Good luck with your eye problem. I have good luck at the Great Clips I go to, and I haven't been to a Burger King in decades. Fun and cute kitties, too.
Great kitty memes!
I hope all is well with your eyes. Please keep us posted.
Hugs
You say you are sorry for visiting late; well I am even later. (I did visit yesterday but it was a busy day andI didn't manage to do any commenting. Anyway, I am sorry to hear about your eye problem. I do hope they are able to improve things for you..
I smiled at all your cat funnies. So many of them are true too.
I will try to make more time for evceryone next Friday. In the meantime, enjoy your week. Kate xx
I'm very late visiting this week....I had another busy day yesterday and went to see our grandaughter Lulu in her school performance of Grease last night...she was brilliant so lots more memories made.
So sorry to hear about your eye...really hope they sort the problem out very soon.
Hugs,
Annie x
Hi Elizabeth, sorry I'm so late this week but after taking the dogs to the groomers it was very sunny coming home and I think it got to my head and by the time we were home I had a migraine and went to bed for the rest of the day but I'm here now. Loving the kitty funnies and hope they sort your eye problem soon, sounds nasty but at least they are looking after you. Wishing you a lovely weekend, Hugs Angela xXx
Bummer! I hope your eye's ok! Sounds like the doctors are taking it seriously. I hope you hear soon.
