I'm back online. Did anyone even notice?

I've been without internet and phone service since about 4:30 p.m. my time on Monday afternoon.  I noticed when I began leaving comments to T Tuesday participants.  At the time, I was sure it was something on my end, because I was SO used to my internet going down due to my old modem.  However, in the past, my internet was not tied to my internet, so when one went down, they both did.  Since I still don't own a cell phone, I was stuck because the temperatures had plummeted below zero F (17.78 C) with wind chills in the lower negative teens (~ -26.1 C) and I was not about to get out to ask my foodie friend Sally to use her phone to call my internet carrier.  Thankfully, I had electricity, heat, and water, so it wasn't like I was in danger of freezing and starving in the dark.  What happened was, the line that led onto the back of the house snapped due to high winds (over 60 mph most of the day) and a tree limb that got in the way.  I didn't know the internet was back online until a service repair person called right before 5 p.m. my time.  I jumped because I wasn't expecting a phone call.  The ATT service rep called and asked me to check my internet, which I did.  I am already doing a happy dance.

I want to thank each and every person who visited while I was unable to let anyone know I was offline.  You are true friends.

Because I want to join Annie (at A Stitch in Time), who hosts Friday Smiles, as well as the lovely ladies who also share their smiles each Friday, I decided to share the neighborhood lights my friend Scott and I photographed on Christmas night while we waited for the pumpkin bread and casserole to cook.

I'll only comment if I think it's needed.  Scott took all photos of homes that were on his side of his truck and I took all that were on the passenger side of the truck.  His are much better than mine.

After we had been there a few minutes, a tour van pulled up and completely blocked my view.  I saw none of this until I saw the photos.  BTW, the entire display was set to music and you were shown where to set your radio dial to listen while the light show progressed.

Just when I could finally see the main house where most of the light show was taking place, it got so crowded, Scott felt we should move on to the next one.

This took remarkably longer than I anticipated, so I hope to see you at Annie's Friday Smiles or on YOUR blog tonight or tomorrow.

I'm glad you're back online. I linked you up to AJJ this morning (yesterday's post) because I thought it was your blogger that was not working, not that your internet went down. But you were lucky you still had electricity, heat and water. That's cold, and it's coming east soon. Glad you are OK, and it's fun to see the xmas photos too. hugs-Erika

Welcome back. We have been without power for most of today (maintenance work).
Others in my city have been without power since Monday after a storm. They might be reconnected on Sunday.
And thanks for the light display.

I checked every couple of hours yesterday because you NEVER miss a Friday! SO glad it was only the internet, not heat and light... our neighborhood had a 15 minute power glitch that really worried us yesterday too. It's amazing that it makes the term "lifeline" really meaningful.

A relief to get internet back for sure. People really do go all out with the Christmas lights- a fun tour.

I love seeing peoples' outdoor decorations. You have some lovely ones here. And I'm glad your internet has returned. It's so frustrating when it goes out, especially if your phone is connected to it! Welcome back!

I'm glad you're not online. It's so isolating to lose internet service :(

Those lights are wonderful, aren't they! Festive :)

Yes I Did miss you-I was actually concerned that perhaps you were in the hospital from getting so cold with no coat with you that day all the temps dropped from being warm. glad you had heat. that is the one bad thing about here where we are now most everything runs on fiber and electric we have gas heat but that still needs electric to run I think.
I enjoyed the light show-glad you are back and have electricity and internet again-hugs

Great photos of the liglhts, it looks like your neighborhood went all out. Glad you got service back up and working. It is so hard to do without the internet when you are used to it. We don't have it at the River house (too rural, too expensive) and I miss it. It makes it hard to keep up with things like journal prompts and daily blogging.

Wow! Thanks for sharing! We didn’t go out this year to see the lights. I am glad that while without internet you had heat, electricity and water.
