It's time once again to join Sami at Sami's Colourful World and her Monday Murals. Even though it's still Sunday in my world, please be aware
that Sami's mural link goes live at 11:01 a.m. my time today.
I'm back with another Wichita flag. This is an exact replica of our city flag. It is located on the side of the building.
This is the logo of the restaurant where the flag is located. Several iconic images can be seen, including the Keeper of the Plains and Century II, over which the airplane is flying. Our city government wants to tear Century II down. I find that offensive. So what is the name of the restaurant, you ask? Or maybe you saw the post title.
Yes, it's the Doo-Dah Diner, which is located at 206 East Kellogg in Wichita, Kansas (USA). EDIT: Mae asked about the menu. For those of you who are interested, they specialize in good old-fashioned American comfort food. See here for the menu.
This mural was created in May, 2016 by Johnny Freedom, the same artist who painted the one I showed at the Brewery last week. For this mural, the hogan (the blue and white center which is a Native American symbol signifying home) is unobstructed.
If you enjoy murals from around the world, please don't forget to visit Monday Murals at Sami's Colourful World. Thanks for stopping by to visit Bleubeard and me. We are both grateful you took time to join us today.

What a fun name for a restaurant, I like it! Nice mural. It's a shame that people always want to tear things down, same thing here. Have a great day, hope you enjoyed the Smithsonian! Hugs, Valerie
DOO*DAH, oh, I love this! Oh, now I´d like to visit!
Great meaning of the blue-white, too.
Fun mural and a memorable restaurant name. Have you eaten there?
Great mural, and I love the name of the diner!
I love the restaurant name too-and another great mural find-Happy Monday (early)
Great looking mural and photos.
I'm impressed by the sheer number of these flag murals. This is a wonderful idea.
I had to look up Century II to find out what it is. Looks like an interesting building too bad there are those that want to tear it down. I hope they don't want to replace the building with a parking lot. Looking down on Century II it looks like the hogan in the city flag.
I love the "Doo Dah" nickname! And why tear down an interesting building like Century II? No respect for the past! The city fathers did that here, too, and now everyone is so regretful and still upset about tearing so many old places down.
I hope they don’t take that sign down because it is really cool almost in an Art Deco way. Love the restaurant name and love the flag.
I would love to see the menu and the type of food they serve there. Is it special to the area or to the city?

Interesting name for the restaurant 😊, Another lovely flag mural Elizabeth. What a pity they want to tear down the building, I though the trend nowadays was to preserve the past. Thanks for contributing to Monday murals.
...you have found so many wonderful flag murals that I've lost track.
I love the name of that restaurant. And their sign with the silhouettes too. I did know about Wichita being an early hub of airplane development and building from a few books I had read in the past, so I am glad to see the plane there too. Hope you had a nice museum visit yesterday and nice Sunday too. hugs-Erika
Nicely done! I really love the name of the diner. That's very clever!
You've made me want to take a trip to Wichita and go to Doo Dah Cafe! I did not know that had any reference to Wichita!
That's a fun name for the restaurant.
And it's nice to see the flag again and be reminded about what it symbolizes.
Thank you for sharing. :)
Have a lovely week, Elizabeth. :)
I like the flag mural.
"Doo Dah" love the name.
My good wishes.
All the best Jan
