Monday Murals: Joy

It's time once again to join Sami at Sami's Colourful World and her Monday Murals.  Even though it's still Sunday in my world, please be aware that Sami's mural link goes live at 11:01 a.m. my time today.

The complete title of this mural is We've Got The Joy

I took a few photos of the Joy, with the "O" being the center of our Wichita flag.

It's actually called a Hogan.  It is a Native American symbol for "permanent home."

This is one of the new 2019 Avenue Art Days murals (2020 Avenue Art Days was canceled due to the virus).  It was painted by Elisabeth Owens.  You might be able to read it's located at College Hill Deli, located at 3407 E. Douglas, Wichita, Kansas (USA).

And because today is also D-Day, I thought I would bring back a relevant mural I've shown in the past.

This shows General Eisenhower liberating Europe, along with his fellow Supreme commanders, including Montgomery from Great Britain and Bradley from the U.S..  This mural is located at the Eisenhower Museum, part of the Eisenhower complex located at 200 SE 4th Street in Abilene, Kansas (USA).

If you enjoy murals from around the world, please don't forget to visit Monday Murals at Sami's Colourful World.  Thanks for stopping in to visit Bleubeard and me today, too.

The joy mural is beautiful. A very strange symbolism. For the other one, we don't forget all that we owe to the brave soldiers who came to liberate europe

I love the Joy mural! The WWll mural is a great record of some of the events of the war. Yesterday a new British memorial was opened at Gold Beach in Normandy - we watched on TV. Such brave men in all armies.
Hugs, Chrisx
