Friday Smiles 396: Some of us may have been in quarantine too long

It's Friday, so let's join Annie (at A Stitch in Time) along with the wonderful ladies who share their week at Friday Smiles.

Today I had no time to complete what I had planned to share, so I will revert to a friend who sent me these fun smiles.  She said these proved we have too much time on our hands since we've been in quarantine.

If poison passes it's expiration date, is it more poisonous or is it no
longer poisonous?

Which letter is silent in the word "Scent," the S or the C?

Do twins ever realize that at least one of them is unplanned?

Why is the letter W, in English, called double U? Shouldn't it be called
double V?

Maybe oxygen is slowly killing you and It just takes 75-100 years to
fully work.

Every time you clean something, you just make something else dirty.

The word "swims" upside-down is still "swims"

100 years ago everyone owned a horse and only the rich had cars. Today
everyone has cars and only the rich own horses.

At a movie theater, which arm rest is yours?

If people evolve from monkeys, why are monkeys still around?

Why is there a 'D' in fridge, but not in refrigerator?

Who knew what time it was when the first clock was made?

Ever wonder why the word funeral starts with FUN?

Why isn't a Fireman called a Water-man?

How come Lipstick doesn't do what it says?

If money doesn't grow on trees, how come Banks have Branches?

If a Vegetarian eats vegetables, what does a Humanitarian eat?

How do you get off a non-stop Flight?

Why are goods sent by ship called CARGO and those sent by truck SHIPMENT?

Why do we put cups in the dishwasher and the dishes in the Cupboard?

Why do doctors 'practice' medicine? Are they having practice at the cost of
the patients?

Why is it called 'Rush Hour' when traffic moves at its slowest then?

How come Noses run and Feet smell?

Why do they call it a TV 'set' when there is only one?

What are you vacating when you go on a vacation?

Did you know that if you replace "W" with "T" in "What, Where and When", you get the answer to each of them.

Now let's head over to Annie's because she knows how to put a smile on everyone's faces.  And whatever you do, please don't forget to start your weekend off right with a few Friday Smiles of your own.  And remember, if you would like to play along, Annie would love to have you join us.

This is Day 20 of AEDM and I joined a link up party that focuses on our lives and happiness.

That was fun indeed - and interesting! Fridge, right, I never thought about that.
Funeral, OMG! We DO have too much time on our hands, this is wonderful!
(Both, actually, the funny part and the time we have)

Hi Elizabeth. In answer to your question...Molly had to be rehomed because they had problems with her and Poppy so now they have Betsy puppy who is a half sister to Poppy and a very different dog. She fits in well and the two dogs get on well together.
Hugs,
Annie x

Too much time on our hands. Maybe! But these were quite funny and they just highlight what an odd language we have.
Thanks for sharing and making us smile. Kate x

Fun! Words like swims that can be read upside down as well as right side up are called ambigrams

Hi Elizabeth, they were funny and some of them rather clever. The heron Guard has arrived and is quite interesting as it makes sounds when it knows someone is near, dogs barking, heron in danger and frog noises. Apparently there is a poisonous frog that they fear. As yet we haven't seen any more herons but that doesn't mean they've not been around as they often come early in the morning too. Take care my friend and keep smiling, Angela xXx

Wonderful! Thanks I needed that. It was like a gallagher comedy routine from my youth! I've often wondered that about monkeys and why monkeys seem smarter than most people... lol

Great smiles Elizabeth! Some oldies but goodies and some new ones that made me laugh out loud! My youngest is very good at observations such as these! He had ambitions to try his luck on a local stage until COVID hit us all! Take care, Hugs, Chrisx
