Homefires Day

Today I'm once again joining Chris from PearShapedCrafting who is this month's host at Art Journal Journey.  Chris wants us to suggest 101 Ways to Stay Warm.   I'm also joining the wonderful ladies at Try it on Tuesday whose theme this fortnight is Home Sweet Home.

I would love to keep these home fires

burning.

Doesn't this look like the perfect romantic place to share an intimate dinner, after which the ideal place to sit around the fire pit to stay warm.

If it got too cold, the festive fireplace inside would end the night perfectly.

For this entry, I started with four watercolor crayons for the background.  The computer generated words were also colored using watercolor crayons.   I cut a postcard to look like a photograph and added some washi tape because I thought it needed something more.

This is Day 17 of AEDM.  I also joined Art Journal Journey and Try it on Tuesday with a spread in my Challenges altered book.  Thank you for stopping by today.  I really appreciate it.

As I look at this lovely post, I'm reminded of living in Overland Park and having the most amazing fireplace, which I sat and looked at sometimes for long periods of time, or curled up with several good reads. Sure do miss that a lot. Yay, to the one of the best creations ever Washi Tape! (lol) Thanks for the perfect pic to bring back such lovely memories.Really enjoy this artful piece. Happy Friday! Hugs...RO

What a beautiful page - so well composed! I love how you made the edge of the image looking like a vintage photo!
The spot of Washi makes a big difference - super! We have to keep our homefires burning right now as well, as it gets very cold - 37° brrr. We can heat by gas and also by solid fuel. I prefer the gas but hubby loves to burn wood. It gives so much more cozy warmth!
Thank you for such a beautiful page -

Happy Day!

Your page looks cozy. Though wimp that I am, I would just stay by the indoor hearth. One thing I wish we had here in the dollhouse was a fireplace.

Great idea! Nice page. This was a clever topic for AJJ this month. I think sitting around that outdoor fire pit looks like a great thing to do on a warmer night. I say warmer because the cold wind has returned. It's too early for winter. :) Have a great FRiday. Hugs-Erika

Such a great page! I really like your watercolor crayons in the background and the washi tape as a accent. Looks like a place I would love to be with family roasting marshmallows and eating smores. Definitely a place to keep warm!
Have a great weekend!

It is a beautiful journal page and those home fires look amazing.
The water crayons are lovely colours for your background.
I could easily feel very comfortable beside an open fire like this.
Thank you for joining us all over at Try it on Tuesdays with this lovely homely page.

It looks so cozy, a wonderful place to gather :) It's been years since I had a fireplace, but your work reminds me that my chiminea could be pressed into service. When it gets too cold for that I'll wish I had that fireplace on your page to warm up to :)

We had a fireplace when we lived in center of Portugal, it would get quite cold in winter as we were near Portugal's highest mountain, but here we don't use much heat, although I wish I had some sort of firepit for the outdoor area.
Your page looks lovely Elizabeth. Have a great weekend.

I've never tried anything like this before...but it looks incredibly fun. One of the really great things about the AEDM challenge is getting to see so many interesting projects, approaches, media and so on. Very eye-opening and quite a boost to one's personal creativity!

We got our walk today but in icy rain for some of the time-we went farther North than we first intended! A fire pit would have been an ideal warmer! Your page is fantastic - great choice of colours! Thanks so much for joining us at Try It On Tuesday and also forsuch a luxurious way to keep warm at AJJ!Hugs,Chrisx
