I am once again joining Art Journal Journey whose theme this month is Time. Some of you might be able to tell this is one of my favorite subjects. Don't ask how or why I came up with this idea, but it may have taken on a mind of its own after I used my handmade stencil to block off the two pages.
After creating the two women, I stamped a side view of a watch onto acetate, then placed it on the head of the woman on the left. I hope you can read "Time may not be on my side"
I considered placing the piece of embossed clock on the woman's head that I made when I was visiting my friend Kathy. Instead I have her holding it. The sentiment continues "But I'll face it head on."
And because I used a stencil, albeit, a handmade one, I'm also entering this at Try It On Tuesday, where their theme this fortnight is stencils.
I had fun making this one, even though I'm really not good with stencils and masks. I appreciate all your comments, because they mean everything to me.
I forgot to mention the size of this AB after I said it was too tall and wide for my scanner. If I scan a single page it is 7 inches by 11 inches (17,78 cm. X 27,94 cm), which scans easily. However, when fully open, it is 14 inches by 11 inches. (35,56 cm X 27,94 cm), which makes it too wide and too tall for my scanner.

Great ideas on your journal page, love the figures on the colourful, sprayed background.Strange that things sometimes just develop on their own, this often happens to me. I usually work large pieces, which never fit the scanner, so I always take photos. Thanks for making more pages for Art Journal Journey, so glad you like the theme. Have a lovely day, hugs, Valerie
I love the colors- your selfmade mists are so vibrant - fantastic... it's always a gift when things go their own way and we are forced to make the best out of it.. that's ART!!!
Love your figures and the whole page!
Thank you very much Elizabeth for joining in at AJJ and TIOT's with this amazing spread!
I just take photos of my work.. my husband is the protector and ruler of our scanner and so I am better and faster in taking photos!
Have a HAPPY SUNDAY Elizabeth ! Hugs to the boys!

same scanner issues here... i just have to take photos when it gets bigger, but sometimes there is a glare or something - light issues or so.

p.s. thank you for sharing these pages with us at TioT's as well.
I think this is another clever page. I like how you put the clock on her face and used those plain figure outlines. Hope you are having a great weekend:)
This is a really great page and having it fit two challenges...nicely done. :)

Your homemade mists sure work beautifully here along with your color choices.
You do color so well and your stencils are very cool and organic looking too!
Good for you combining two challenges in one!

Wonderful spread with an unique idea. Thank you for sharing with us at TioT.
Very interesting interpretation. Waiting in doctors office.
I thought you had gone hi-tech when I read about the sprays, but went back to check (always a good move before making a comment) and discovered your sprays were hand-made.
I seriously love your idea for "Time" and the great way you have illustrated it.
