Hearts to Hands: a spread in my Hands AB

Yes, this really is an art blog, but lately my art has taken a back seat to more personal life issues. Included was yesterday, when I was out and about all day, but refused to take my camera, because I was bored with my life, as I think most of you are, too. So I came home and made a simple spread in my Hands AB just to see if I remembered how to make art.

I began with a background made from a recycled map, a few postage stamps, a magazine image and three hands I cut from cardstock. I threw in a couple of quotes and some heart embellishments and called it done. It doesn't have a lot of elements, but it felt really good to get back to making a bit of art.

I found today's blog by searching for a collage blog. And boy did I find one. The blog, Couleurs et Mixed Media is written completely in French, but there is a translation icon on her sidebar that will help a bit. The blog owner is Francoise Melzani. She is a design team member of several companies. If I read the translations correctly, she also designs many of the papers she uses in her art. Some of you may have been to her blog before, but I had not. I really enjoy her colorful and free style of art. Hope you do, too.

The hands you chose make a great collage. I love the use of stamps and maps as well.

Thanks for the tip on the French blog. I checked it out and you are right on targic once again. Great collages to be found there!
