Memorabilia holder

Blogger gave me fits last night. I couldn't get any photos except one to load. After fighting with it for several frustrating hours, I gave up and waited until today. Trust me, it took longer to get this on Blogger than it did to make two of these fun holders.

I believe I came up with this design while fiddling with some Christmas cards for another project. Originally, I demoed this on ABC, but thought it would be the perfect project to try out my UHU glue stick.
Supplies: UHU glue stick, hole punch (I used 1"), 4 cards the same size for each holder you want to make. Tags, embellishments, photo frames, photo corners, etc. for decorating your book (not shown).
Using the guides on your hole punch, punch approximately 1/2 a hole in the center of one card front.
Punch a half hole in the front center of a second card.
I prefer to use all the same design on my cards, but it's easier to see the various steps when the cards are different. So, I created two sets.
Apply glue in a strip around the outside of both cards with the hole. The glue goes around the three sides of the perimeter, leaving room on the inside for tags or photos. Do not glue the top where the punched hole is. You can see if you are getting good coverage because the glue is purple until it dries. You probably won't stop to take photos, either. Even with all the waiting time, the UHU glue drying time was adequate so I could stop and photograph each step.
Close and press well. Allow to dry. Repeat for the second card with a punched hole. These will now be referred to as "pouch cards." Again, I have completed this step for both sets of pouch cards.
Apply glue to the back of one pouch card and to the back of a card that has not been punched. Repeat this step with the other pouch card and unpunched card. Again, make sure you have good coverage for this step. Your UHU glue will be purple as shown in the photo.
Attach the two cards, being certain they are turned the right direction. Press well. Allow to dry. The above photo shows one side assembled.
Here is what it looks like from the other side. The pouch card and single card are now an assembly. Repeat. Before going on to the next step, you should have two assemblies.
Apply UHU glue stick to the inside left of both assemblies. These are the single sides, or the ones that do not have the pouch card attached. Don't worry if the cards curl. Since you are applying glue to both cards, they will flatten in the next step. Remember, according to UHU, you only need one swipe, so this should be economical, too.
Making sure both assemblies are turned the correct way, place the two insides together. Be sure to place the edge of one assembly at the crease of the other assembly. Before you completely attach the two assemblies, close and open the pieces to assure a close fit. In addition to butting the two assemblies up to each other, be sure the two assemblies are aligned in both directions.
If all has gone well, this is what it should look like at this point.
Now that everything is aligned, press firmly and allow to dry.
You now have a completed memorabilia holder. This is one side of the completed holder,
and this is the opposing side.
I actually prefer to use all the same cards, but it's hard to tell that this is one side,
and this is the opposite side. As for adhereing? The UHU glue held up well, even waiting for me to photograph the steps before drying!!

Now comes the fun part. Decorate each page using stickers, die cuts, scrapbook pages, frames, photos, anything flat. Decorate the covers with anything you choose. Place decorated handmade tags, gift certificates, ATCs, or photos in the pouches.
Mine are going to be Christmas gifts, so I will personalize them for each recipient. Have fun with these. They are easy and are a lot of fun to make. They are even more fun to decorate.
