I created the leaves using cardstock and spraying them with both Bottle and Lettuce color washes. Then I took a large foam brush and swiped them with just a touch of water. I painted them on both sides. They were just strong enough that I could bend the "leaves" slightly for added effect. Each of the 10 table decorations have 3 leaves and 3 strings. The gal in charge of the dinner and ordering the balloons wanted the strings 6', 7', and 8' long. I had a real time with them, since they wanted to tangle. Of course, Bleubeard had to get his two cents worth in, too, playing with several of the strings before I kicked him out of the room.
Here they are waiting for Sally to pick them up tomorrow. I could only get 8 in the box, so the other four are on the table. Two of them only have one leaf and one 6' string. They also have a sign that reads "Dessert" and "Appetizers" on both sides of the sign. There was no way I could hold the 6' sign and take the photo. I'm hoping Sally will do that tomorrow, so I have a record of it. Also, I'll get a better idea what they will look like with the mac (oops, I mean balloons) added.
Here is another view of the decorations. I hope they will look springy enough. The gal in charge told me the balloons she ordered were yellow, pink, and blue. I hope they look like flowers growing out of the grass. Incidently, no one knows what the design is. All they wanted was a table decoration and something that would hold the balloons.
