T Stands For The Tea Party Picnic

Welcome once again to T at my very dark, very wintery dining room table.  Today Bleubeard and I are sharing this post with Art Journal Journey where our themes are Favorite Season or 'Tis the Season.  This means today our favorite season is summertime.

Those of you who read and follow my blog know how much I dislike summer.   But today, I've put that prejudice aside and grabbed two orphans

that comprise my cup and saucer.

I chose these colors because they matched the colors in the art.

These adorable children have invited us to join their summertime tea party picnic.

They have cookies, sandwiches, tea, sugar, and milk for the tea.

The little boy has brought canned food for the dog, too.

They all watch eagerly as the little girl

pours tea from the teapot into the cups.

I found this image in my stash and cannot truthfully remember where it came from.  I'm sure it came from one of the freebie image sites listed on my right sidebar, though.  I sized the image to fit on the page, then cut and rounded the corners using a corner punch.  I used water soluble crayons to write the sentiment and color the images, but I have trouble staying within the lines, especially since I created this while watching television late one night.

Let's join these children as they enjoy a summertime tea party picnic. And of course, please join the handsome Bleubeard and me for T and at Art Journal Journey where we are hosting this month.

By now, I'm sure you know the drill.  It's time to share your own drink related post.  It can be photos, a place you visited, movies, postcards, books, sketches, mixed media, drawings, paintings, tags, scrapbooking, or other art that is digital, hybrid, or traditional, as long as it in some way relates back to a drink, any drink.  Regardless, please share below and Bleubeard and I, along with the rest of the T gang will be by to visit.   Please link only your T post and not your blog in general.  Old photos are acceptable because they may be taken any time, not just on Tuesday.  Quite soon, I will also be able to say "and not even this year!"

It would be great if it was warm enough for a picnic today, lovely idea for a journal page. Happy T Day, Valerie

That looks like an image from my childhood. Ah, nostalgia!
The colour of the cups indeed matches your cup. Amazing.
It's nice to be reminded of summer when it is cold and dark out. (Summer is my favorite season)
Happy T-Day,
Lisca

How cute! The type of artwork reminds me of the Dick and Jane readers. The sticky heat of summer makes it my least favorite season.

That's a great way to share a journal page alongside your T Day post, brings back memories of Picnic's as a child with my Teddies and Doll's.
A sweet page & a beautiful glass tea cup Elizabeth.
Happy T Day Hugs Tracey xx

Oh Elizabeth what a gorgeous, heart warming journal page. You have taken me back for some very happy memories today. The children pouring out the tea and their dog looking on is a magical scene.
I love the glass cup and saucer you shared today as well, they may be orphans but they look a great pair to me.
Happy T day wishes Elizabeth.

You can't imagine how very well your page fits our morning here as it is just wonderful sunny and I think the much snow will hopefully melt a bit down. At least the birds sing and come to the feeders like they celebrate T-Day with us! This page is so lovely dear Elizabeth! YOu are the hosting queen of AJJ this month!
And something wonderful happened just now to me as well... a letter from you arrived and I sit here with tears in my eyes - I am so happy and impressed with the wonderful gifts you sent! This stunning quiltlet is simply amazing - I will instantly iron it a bit as it got a fold whilst in the envelope and it will go to the wall where I can see it well ... did I tell as you showed it that I am so in love with specially THIS quiltlet with the healing heart?!
You just made me soooo happy! Will post later and add the post to the link up here....

Have a wonderful T-Day and thank you for all the hosting work!
That is so time comsuming and it shows your love to the world!

You are a wonderful artist!

Summer! Now you're talking! How pleasant to sit outside (without bundling up in layers, heavy coats, and gloves) and have a cup of tea. Your orphan cup and saucer is very pretty. Happy T Day!

That's such a charming vintage image - reminds me of some of the books I had growing up - and the idea of a summer picnic feels like a very pleasant dream on another cold, grey, rainy day here!
