This shot was taken last year when my sunflowers that arrived via bird droppings three years ago were in full bloom. They were not much taller than the fence, as can be seen by the metal post in the center of the photo. Look at that perfect sunny autumn day, too.
how much fuller and taller everything is. You can barely see the top of the chain link fence
and how much these sunflowers have not just grown in a year, but also, how much they have propagated.
Once inside, I created this arrangement of sunflowers in my Grandmother's water/tea pitcher.
Although I wouldn't want to use it for holding drinks, since it has a chip and a crack in the top of the pitcher,
it makes an excellent vase for these sunflowers that now sit on my writing desk early this morning. Imagine my surprise after uploading this photo how cluttered the background looks.
I also want to thank all of you who wished me back to wellness these past several days. I'm finally able to sleep for several hours, which is a huge improvement. I'm hoping to be able to get back to the basement soon, too. Thanks again for all your well wishes. I'm sure they are what helped get me through much of this nightmare.
What are you arranging today? Is it a bit of art, flowers, story telling, or maybe a walk in your garden before autumn sets in full force. Join us for T, link below, and we'll be by. Tell your friends. There are no rules, no need to wait till Tuesday to take your photos, and you can even schedule your post ahead of time. Just create fun T tales.

i have a very similar wild sunflower. mine aren't blooming yet, but i'll post a picture as soon as they do. mine tend to get tall and then fall over. i like how yours stand up. :)
That is the perfect vase for those sunflowers!! Just perfect.
Cluttered background? What clutter? I didn't notice. Does that mean I am immune to clutter from living with it? LOL! ;)
Your wild sunflowers have really taken off this year! Amazing how they manage to plant themselves and grow so well and yet when you spend money on a plant the darn things die on you? LOL Love your water jug with the cut flowers on the sunflower table mat, very pretty. So glad you managed to get a few hours of decent sleep, it always makes you feel heaps better, just no going down there and moving things again???
LOL... the hose is for the ficus tree and the two lavandar bushes plus the cat grass and catmint which are all in pots! I might occasionally give the fake grass a swish over with it though!
Oh and I updated the post with my first bow attempt... your opinion would be gratefully received!!
Thank you birds!! What a glorious gift they left you and I love that pitcher, I keep forgetting to keep broken pots and cups for these reasons

Hello and Happy T time!!! WOW, those sunflowers are tall and beautiful!! They did fill out this year, love it!
What a pretty and perfect pitcher for these flowers, love it!!
So glad you got some sleep and feel a little bit better. Don't rush down to your basement just yet, more resting will probably be better for you. Wish I was there and could help you move things, I'm tiny but would do what I could to help.
Thanks so much for sharing with us today! Hope the sun is out and giving you a warm spot to relax in. HUGS!!
We have that beautiful sunflower too - it flowers exactly the same time too - I bought it from a market gardener who called it an everlasting sunflower because of its unusual perennial nature. Lovely specimen you got there. So prolific.
Ah sweet friend, I'm just catching up and I read that you've probably trapped or 'pinged' your sciatic nerve...horrible horrible. Stay as mobile as you can and take anti inflammatories if you can..I know it's immobility and sleep that's harder isn't it. Absolutely love all the blooms on your Mandala, such beautiful colours and so delicate - is that fresh lavendar? All mine is seeded now.and am horrified that you EVER stand on a chair to take a photo...despite the contortions to keep fingers and boobs out of the frame, I never do that. Please don't!
Love, Love sunflowers. They are so bright and cheery. That pitcher makes a perfect vase.
Glad to hear your getting better and able to sleep. Sleep does wonders for the body.
Pretty flowers in a pretty pitcher. Looks like the flowers have established themselves and will show up yearly now. That is great.
Hope you feel 100% real soon.

So good to hear you are feeling a bit better sweetie, onwards and upwards (or downwards to the basement lol) hopefully.
I adore your sunflowers too, what a glorious splash of colour.
Huge hugs x x x x

Lovely flowers Elizabeth and I love your grandmother 's pitcher. It is so beautiful.
Hope you are feeling better. Things have not been very good here with the kids being sick.
Wishing you a good week with better health and lots of creativity.
I'm so glad that you're feeling a bit better now. Hope you will feel completely back to normal soon.
Thanks for sharing your beautiful sunflower photos. I have a taste of autumn today on my blog, too.
Well I just love those flowers--they scream Happy Autumn to me!
Well, E. I was going to join you for tea today and in the middle of my photographing a delectable breakfast I was called upon for some emergency advice regarding my sister's girlfriends grandmother. Pause. Think on that a moment. Anyway, sufficed to say the documentation of my T did not happen and here we are.
But I wanted to come by and wish you a happy T today and tell you I am so thrilled every time I see that you have left a comment on my blog :-) and I am glad you are beginning to feel your oats again... I don't even know what that means but it sounded southern and fall like, lol

What a lovely surprise from the birds! It's amazing how much they have spread. They look beautiful and all the more special in your grandmother's vase.
As for the background being cluttered...I really didn't notice until you mentioned it! I did see a rocking horse or two!
Glad your back pain is easing up.
Those flowers must cheer you up, they are just so bright and sunny. Hope you continue to improve daily. Have a lovely tea with Patty.
Better late than never! linking up in the afternoon...after realizing it's Tuesday!! beautiful sunflowers...
Surfed over from scrappystickyinkymess after seeing her lovely win. Loved your wonderful sunflowers, and the old pitcher. That was just the most perfect vase for these sunny, cheerful flowers. Just looked like 'summertime' to me. TFS & I'll be back one day to join in T hopefully. Will enjoy a little browse at your blog.
A perfect way to retain that pitcher for memories sake and how beautiful it looks holding that amazing display of sunflowers.
Love to you and Bleubeard.
Hugs, Neet xx
Beautiful sunflowers - so bright & cheery - have a great week Mxx
I'd love to sew paper too and have on occasion but as I have to get the old sewing machine out each time it doesn't happen often. I think you understand this completely. Thanks for your comment. BJ
Hope you have been a sleepy head since Tuesday. Lovely flowers- what clutter, I see no clutter. Come to my house. xox
