T Stands for the PTA Cookbook (and for AJJ)

Today Bleubeard and I are joining Mary (an imaginary Art Journal Journey student) as she shares her diary, along with a one pound container of whole bean coffee.

Mary's proud of her parents because they joined the PTA (Parent Teacher Association) and are actively involved in publishing this cookbook.

It's not just an ordinary cookbook,

as these pages that describe coffee grinders show.

Various coffee grinders from this and previous centuries are included.   Mary thinks every parent should be involved with their school PTA.   Bleubeard and I think you should join us at Art Journal Journey where we're celebrating heading Back to School.

For this spread, I started by painting the gessoed page with green acrylic craft paint.  When dry, I added images from Chapter 4 of a high end cookbook that included tools one would need to create each recipe.

Years ago I received a sample recipe book, and I cut it apart.  When I ran across the remains I had not used in other art, I decided to use the cover for this spread.  I hid the word "sample" with a row of ribbon numbers.

Now it's time to share your drink related post.  Any post is possible and acceptable, as long as you can relate it back to a drink, any drink.  It can be a postcard,  a movie, a painting, a sketch in your sketchbook, an altered book page, a digital, hybrid, or traditional journal or scrapbook page, or photos of your time out and about.  Once you link, Bleubeard, the T gang, and I will be around to visit.

What a fantastic idea you had for today - a study of coffee grinders and coffee beans would be absolutely my cup of tea - err- coffee. Thanks for making another of your original 'Elizabeth Specials' for AJJ - top marks again! Happy T Day, hugs, Valerie

Now that was a clever way to combine back to school with T for Tuesday. I would never have thought of a PTA cookbook. I think Mary must be a muse who whispers these good ideas in your ear Elizabeth! :) Great idea and great page. Happy T day, a few hours early. Hugs-Erika

That is a fantastic idea for a journal page, never mind the prospects of creating a cool book. I loved reading Mary's story and seeing all those pictures you added to the page.

Clever you E!
Really fun way you're going with your super school challenge.
And a nice way to combine T and AJJ.
We have an old wooden German coffee mill that a talented cousin of mine painted. It is fun to open the little drawer.
Happy T Day oxo

Enjoyed this - really like the graphics on the coffee bean bag. I have a wooden coffee mill almost exactly like the one in a picture on your page.

Great AJJ journal page and T-day perfect.
I don't know if they even HAVE PTA in the schools anymore.....that's sad! Parents are not as active in their children's education like they used to be......too busy working.
My parents were active for as long as I can remember.....but my Mom didn't work outside the home until we were in high school, maybe that is the reason.

What brilliant idea Elizabeth! A wonderful page too!
PTAs used to be quite important when I was teaching and when my boys were younger. As a PTA member at their primary school we were usually serving refreshments and often missed our little ones taking part at Sports days - something I always made sure that parent helpers never did when they came to help when I was teaching! Seeing those coffee grinders brought back a memory too!
I think I have "gone on" a bit with my post today -apologies!! Hugs, Chrisx

Great job of connecting the two challenges ! We still grind our specialty beans but fir the day to day wake me up in the mornings it good ole Folgers already ground :) It's just too much effort to grind beans at 4 am . Happy T Day!
