Welcome. Let me show you how I spent preparing for a Memorial Day get together.

Come join me on my so called "patio" as I prepare to welcome visitors soon.

The drinks are ice cold and the fire is burning.

These are what I'll be serving my guests. They will be here in less than an hour.

My guests have a choice of V-8. Once I completed the photo shoot, I popped these back in the fridge.

I want my guests to be bug free, so when I host an event outside, I like to use citronella candles. I love the shape of this holder. It reminds me of styles I've seen from Mid-century modern. I need to wash the lid, so it's good I've given myself time to prepare.

I use this a lot and never bother cleaning away the ash. The mosquito coil is a refill. It is made by S.C. Johnson and is called OFF. It has a country fresh scent and each coil lasts about four hours.

This is the topper for my chiminea. Sadly, it broke two years ago and I tried to glue it back the best I could. I never actually found all the pieces.

It also holds a candle, but I must replace this one with one that is citronella.

This is another container I picked up a few years ago.

It also holds an OFF coil.

While I was photographing the table, the fire was starting to glow. Not sure you can see the smoke coming out the top, but this is definitely ready for the food packets I've prepared. I have one that has potatoes, celery, carrots, and onions, and three that also have sausages. Mine is the one without the sausage. I also oiled the packets and added various fresh herbs from the herb garden.
I've shown you mine, now it's your turn to share your T entry this week. The rules are extremely simple.
Your
drink related post may be anything
from a photo of a
glass, cup, or mug, to an actual drink. You may choose to share a sketch or a digital,
hybrid, or traditional page in your scrapbook, art journal, or altered
book. Maybe you'd prefer to share a tag, or wow us with your photography. You might
choose a postcard or decorated card. You might even draw an image on a used tea bag. Or
perhaps
you prefer to review a place you visited, a movie, or book. It makes no
difference
as long as it's drink related. And don't forget that the
more unique and outside the box it is, the better we like it. Please tie
it back here, and
please link only to your T post, not your entire blog. When you link,
Bleubeard, the T gang, and I will be by to visit. Bleubeard
would also like to remind you that your photos may be taken any time.

...when I was in Boy Scouts, we had what was called, foil dinners. It's good to see that V8 comes in a low sodium version!
Dear Elizabeth, I hope you had a nice day/evening with your guests. V8 is unknown here with us. And I hope you will not be disturbed by mosquitos but you have enough citronella candles...Happy T-day and all the best
Violetta
Looks like a great day. Been forever since I had a V8 I remember the saying though, " Oh, I could've had a N8." Slaps forehead dramatically
I can see the smoke. I've never cooked in my chiminea, but then my husband is the grill guy. I love that top, even broken it makes a super table topper or outdoor piece. It looks like an ancient Mesoamerican piece of art. It looks like you had a super Memorial Day. And it wasn't raining, like it was at my house. I hope you also have a super T day too. hugs-Erika
I vaguely remember V8 from the UK. I don't think I've ever tasted it though. There was also a fruit version. (I think)
Your citronella candles are lovely. And those coils are very effective. I remember using those too. I wonder if they still sell them here....
I agree with Erika, the chiminea topper looks ancient Mesoamerican. I like it a lot.
Yes, I can see the smoke. I never knew what people used chimeneas for. Now I know!
I hope your party was a success.
Happy T-Day,
Lisca
Love the drinks, reminds me of our travels throughout Australia. De facto... never saw that here in Germany!
So those citronella candles work? Cool. Saw one and thought, nahhhh...
I think it´s good you never found the pieces of the chiminea. To me it shows: Even if broken and some is lost ... we stick together. This is strength, right?
Your fireplace looks great, too, and I see the smoke.
Hmmm, would I love to mix amongst your guests! Have a great day, dear host!
Sounds like a fun event. Looks like you had a nice day for it, too. Happy T Day
Low sodium V8, I will have to look for it. I love making foil packets!
Happy T! My sister thinks those OFF coils work.
Your table looks fantastic. Very considerate of you to put out all of the citronella to ward of bugs. I love seeing your garden in the background too. I haven't make foil dinners in a long time. Might just have to do that. I didn't know V-8 made a low sodium. The one reason I never drank it in the past was it tasted too salty to me. Have a very nice day today.
It sounds like a lovely Memorial Day get together. It was just two of us here. :) Happy T Day!
