On the bubble

Today I'm at Art Journal Journey joining our host Mia who can be found at Craftartista.  Her theme this month is Make your own background.  I'm also sharing this with Nicole and Friday Face Off because there is a face in this post.

It's obvious I named this On the bubble.  Details are below.

On the bubble is a television term which may not be familiar to my international visitors.  If a company's television show has neither been renewed nor canceled at the end of the season, it is on the bubble.  It could go either direction until the network or cable company decides to renew or cancel.  It also means being in a situation where you’re on the verge of either success or failure.  You should think of it as hovering on the edge of two possible outcomes.

The TH paper doll is sitting on one of the bubbles, all of which were created with yellow ink, then cut with punches and glued in place over 110 lb cardstock painted pinkish red.  The sentiment was computer generated and outlined using black dye ink.

Thanks for dropping by today.  Bleubeard and I hope to see you and your handmade backgrounds soon at Art Journal Journey and a face at Friday Face Off.

Your bubble pop background is great, and the young man in it. Great idea how you did it!

What a striking piece Elizabeth and thanks for the explanation of 'on the bubble'. Makes perfect sense when you explain it.
Good idea to have a man sitting on a bubble as if he is awaiting a decision to be made.
Love the background, it must have taken ages to punch out all those circles and then glue them into place. i would have ended with a cluster in one place or a gap that nothing fit. Not as easy as one might think to get it looking as good as you did.

I didn't know this expression either, but it's perfect. I like your yellow bubbles and the gentleman sitting on them. Thanks for joining Mia's challenge. I'm still away, but am trying to keep up with AJJ so I don't end up overwhelmed when I get home. Hope you don't have any more hail and have a super Friday hugs-Erika
