Bleubeard and I are back with our next journal page.
We are hosting Art Journal Journey this month and our themes are Collage Fodder, Food and Drink, or both. Bleubeard chose all the images after I insisted I wanted to create a page that showcased fish poachers and fish molds. I thought he did a great job.Here are a few detail shots. I hope you read the comments about the molds and poachers. Some are hilarious.

We do have such a double handed "Fish Poacher"!
And I think Ingo even once made fish in that.
But usually it´s for asparagus.
I like neither, sadly.

Brilliant. I still remember following my father along the river banks as a child. When he caught was when we ate. And rainbow trout fresh out of the water was delicious.
Those special-purpose cooking pots and utensils are so tempting! I wish I had room in my kitchen for a real fish poacher. I do have a pair of fish servers, which are fun and practical for serving fish. I remember reading recipes for aspic or jello moulds containing canned fish, but the flavors don’t really suit current tastes, do they?

I don't think Moby Dick would fit into my oven even with a fish poacher. Smile. You are right, these are fun to read. I guess you do need to convince someone to buy a fish poacher. I wonder if people still own them. This is another fun page for AJJ. Have a great weekend. hugs-Erika

Fun page and some of the descriptions are indeed, funny. All those different utensils to cook fish. Much easier to go to a restaurant.

I've never poached fish. I always bake it when I cook, but when I go out I always order it fried.
I don't think I've ever poached fish. Steamed, if that's the same or steam/roast but not poach. I have enough trouble poaching eggs! It's a fascinating piece!
Thanks for the reminder about all of this. I have a set of fish knives bought as a wedding present many many moons ago but they rarely get used. We forget about them.
The design on the one in your picture reminds me of a knife I have but I don't think it is a fish knife. I do have an old bread knife and I love it - would hate to guess how old it is - it belonged to an old aunt.
