I finally had a chance to create my latest
Craft Barn entry which is
W. Since there was no twist, I chose Wings which fit nicely with
Try it on Tuesday's theme
I think I can fly.

And because
Moo-Mania & More's latest theme is
Paris, I couldn't resist creating this spread.

This spread took both sides of the book, so here is the left side. I started by covering the words with a sheet of deli paper I spritzed with Twinkling H2Os. I chose the deli paper because I wanted a bit of transparency so the words could barely peek through. I colored each of the letters using a metallic Sakura Gelly pen.

Craft Barn requires the definition, because after all, this is an alpha-dictionary challenge!
![](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYqfA0z64oC8BU7SnxSBAiBLtNJC94VGIoinMRM9CE1rxqfVZjktWwIoAXU8lhMJwqnQBfMW7T5vJuFG9UxlsegFHy0lro8UszWJzlg_MRnK9g81sk82qyN63WMEVEnr7PYcCg/s280/Wings+right.jpg)
This was the fun side, while the other side was the tedious side.

I began with the letter, also colored and outlined using a Gelly pen.

I stamped a white flower with French text, added the outline of butterfly wings, then added the little girl's face to the front of the flower.

The Eiffel Tower was stamped using gold ink, and I fear it wasn't dark enough to show the Paris swirl on the stamp.

I can just hear the little girl telling the wings to fly her to the Eiffel Tower. Hope you can hear her, too. Materials used include my altered book as the substrate, spritzed deli paper, two rubber stamps, the word from my Merriam-Webster dictionary, computer generated text to which was added Gelly pens, a stamped flower petal, a punched face from a magazine, and a butterfly stencil.
Once again I visited everyone who linked to the Craft Barn's previous challenge, and look forward to seeing how others interpret the letter W.
Of course, if you want to see mixed media at its finest, please check out both
Moo-Mania & More and
Try it on Tuesday, where any type of project is acceptable as long as it fits their themes.
As always, I am very appreciative for your continued support of my art.
That would be quite a flight on your wings from your part of the world to Paris! I love the splotchy background effect and the collaged image (your stamping looks good to me).
ReplyDeleteWonderful spread and clever combining of the challenges
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining us at Try it on Tuesday

Oh yes! Fly ME to the Eiffel Tower…any time!! Love these colours and I adore the little girl borrowing the butterfly wings! So pleased you joined us again at Try It On Tuesday! Hugs, Chrisx
ReplyDeleteForgot to answer your question - yes the hedges and grass are cut by the warden but the rest of the garden is up to us how we plant it up! We are extremely lucky to have this plot and it is our home from home for sure!
ReplyDeleteHmm! I feel a second look coming on and a tale to tell! Hugs, Chrisx
What a fun spread, and love how you combined all those challenges with your fab twist in the sentiment. Thanks for joining us at TIOT and MM&M! Have a lovely day, hugs, Vaerie
ReplyDeleteThis is terrific! I like everything about it, the theme, the colors, the transparency. One of my favorite pieces you have created.
ReplyDeleteSuch an eclectic mix of ideas which really come together for all those challenges, and made me smile!
ReplyDeleteYou are very smart to come up with a way to combine those 2 challenges together. Nice work. I love the little splatters on the printed background. It is very classy, as is the butterfly outline around the Eiffel Tower. Hope you are dry, having fun, and all else is going well. Now that school is out I hardly catch the morning news because I don't need to get dressed for work (so i don't need to know the weather to see how to dress) so I don't really know what's happening else where weather wise. :) Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteLove the spattery look and fun to see how you integrated the two challenges!
ReplyDeleteOh, and thanks for coming by the Gypsy! It's always fun to see you!
Very cool page and love how you added the wings to the Eiffel Tower. Thanks for playing with us at TIOT.
