Ever since I saw this Maps theme at Art Journal Journey where this month's host is Mary C. Nasser, I have wanted to create a hand map. I realize I'm no good at drawing, but I hope this is taken in the humorous spirit in which it was intended.

I created this spread in my Coll-AH-ge Two altered book using portions of a state map, white acrylic paint, a Sharpie, several metallic Sakura pens, and my own hand as a reference.
Thank you for sharing this bit of map humor with me and please don't forget to check out all the other map entries at Art Journal Journey. As always, your visit means so very much to me.
this is really good fun Elizabeth!

Nice hand and I love this idea . They use that term map of our hand. I like the way the hand looks like it's full of life and not just a model Elizabeth. Nothing wrong with that drawing. HAppy Wednesday Hugs Erika
ReplyDeleteWhat fun! This is a striking image, has some significant meaning and yet retains a playfulness - traits that I love. This made me smile and think about if I have any maps stashed away....

ReplyDeleteGreat that you have a travel and laugh line that are longer!
Have fun.
What an awesome idea.. and that your travel and laugh lines are so long and take a turn for parts known and unknown.. it seems you have left worry behind for arty fun.. I have been pondering on a body map myself this month.. thanks for sharing this and the spice merchant below, how cool is that? x
