Of course, the recycling came from my flower bed. After all the work I put into my herb and veggie garden last weekend, I thought it was time to put just a bit of effort into my rose bush. 
While pruning away, I realized this would make a good nature inspired springtime bouquet. And it would be a great way to recycle these clippings. I grabbed a straight sided vase, added some decorative marbles, water,
and a length of ribbon that coordinated with the other elements on the writing desk in my living room area.
It's definitely a quick, no-cost, easy way to bring a bit of nature into your home, while bringing a smile to anyone who sees it. ReplyDeletei will often do this too, and sometimes after the clippings dry and the leaves fall off, i will use the branches in my assemblages.
nothing is wasted... that makes me smile. thanks for the reminder.
And if you're really lucky the clippings just might make roots....I've taken little cuttings of a real favourite one we have here hoping that at least one would grow....and they all did :-)

Yes, it has gotten a good pruning! you should see the rose bushes here! they bloomed a couple of weeks ago... laden with blooms... and will be blooming through the summer til fall... so different here in the south!! xx

ReplyDeleteGlad to see the fun things you upcycled with. This is the first place I have lived with no roses and no lilacs. Miss both so much. A deer ate the newly planted lilac bush and we plan to get a rose bush when it warms up a bit. Have a lovely weekend. Love the pretty colors you have grouped together on that last photo. Hi Elizabeth, a great idea and if you are lucky they might develop roots - what could be better than rose bushes for nothing! We are only 2hrs 15 mins by train from London, just over 1 hour by road from castles in Wales, and the same distance from William Wordworth Country... the Lake District. Tempted?
