English Breakfast Tea

This morning I'm at my dining room table, enjoying a cup of English Breakfast Tea with Kimmie and my Tea Tuesday friends. This loose leaf tea was sent to me by Annette, aka Voodoo Vixen, and I went back to my British roots and drank this tea with lots of half and half (after all, I don't have any milk). And while you are visiting Voodoo Vixen, be sure to check out her "Less Patient Book Tutorial." If you've ever seen that book that unfolds into a thousand other books, Annette will show you how to make it much faster (well, not THAT much faster, since it took her two weeks to finish it, although I am sure a LOT of that time was spent documenting the tutorial).

However, before you visit Annette, check out this photo of a real British telephone booth. WHAT? You can't see it? OK, neither can I, although I had the focus set on "tulip." I even took nearly 100 shots trying to get the "right" focal length.

In fact, even though I was using the tulip setting (which is "usually" up close and personal), you can see the dining room chair and dining room furniture far better than you can see this lovely British icon.

Have a lovely Tea Tuesday and share what YOU are drinking today. Kimmie (and I, of course) would love for you to join us.

  5. Are you sure you put tea in that cup? It looks a little weak, must be the half and half - lol. Great tin, we have lots of things 'all British' at the moment with the Olympics and the Queen's Jubilee and I have to admit, I love all of it.

  8. what a fun tea tin :) .... blurry or not! and english breakfast is such a yummy tea too (especially with milk - as I see you have done)

you asked about my camera .... it's a nikon coolpix S60 - about 5 years old. It was my dad's but he gave it to me because his fingers were too big to operate it. I like it because it fits in my pocket easily and doesn't have too many fancy options that I would never use. I think he had originally purchased it at costco .... hope that helps!!!

    happy tuesday!

  9. English Breakfast is a very fine choice for tea and all the nicer in that cool tin!

I have found that I can only get so close with the Macro (which sounds like your Tulip setting) and then it blurs...so I get as close as possible and often times crop the photo to bring it in closer (hope that makes sense?)

Happy T day to you dear Elizabeth!

  12. When I visited England I bought some tea in a tin that looks like the double decker bus there. I still have it, the tin, not the tea. :) Having iced tea this afternoon and planting some new plants in my yard. Happy tea day.

  14. Maybe your camera doesn't like the Brits!!! English Breakfast is a classic isn't it... I drink a lot of Irish Breakfast and even though they taste pretty similar I drink it because it comes in the most beautiful green packets... not the best reason to drink a tea, but as a fellow visual I am sure you understand... have a great week...xx

  15. Tea, no never. After a day of 'playing grandma' to 11 month old Erin I'm drinking Cointreau and lemonade (the only alcohol left!)
If it help Macro setting is usually about 7-8 " and allow your camera 'time' to focus.

  17. I think its the cheery bright redness of the phone box... and mail box... and double decker buses... they all look fabulous in photos... except yours!! LOL I'm not sure about the colour of your tea... it looks a bit wishy washy...
Thank you for the shout about the tutorial... I really expect at least one mad soul to attempt it!! ;)

  18. I like weak tea too. Your tin is cute. I also have a coolpix camera.I had to play with the settings a bit at first.Have you tried it without Macro taking it from a distance so you can crop it? Have a great day.
