Life

I would like to begin by thanking Chris for her excellent job of hosting in August.  Although I haven't had a chance to see all her entries, I know she has done a great job hosting.  I truly wish I had felt better and could have played more and even been more active.  Sadly, I've spent most of August in bed.

Today we welcome a new host as we do at the beginning of every month.  This host is one of our co-moderators, who has kindly offered to host again this month.  That is my dear internet friend Mia who can be found at Craftartista. Her theme the entire month of September is Make Your Own Backgrounds.

This is one of my favorite backgrounds.  Detail images are below.

The little girl in the journal page, a TH paper doll, is pointing out that Life is not always Black and White.  Nor should it be.  This background was created using strips of the interiors of security envelopes.

Please remember we welcome art journal pages that meet the theme requirements, altered book pages, canvases, loose, or stand alone pages including fabric and digital art.  I (and the administrators) cannot leave comments on Facebook, TicTok, or Instagram entries.  We do not allow cards!!!  We also don't allow tags, index cards, ATCs, or ATCoins, unless they are part of a journal page, and as much as we don't want to, will be forced to delete your entry.  Please remember if your blog is not in English, we ask that you translate it for us since the translation tool doesn't work on some blogs, including mine.  Finally, we do not allow back-links to any journal page published prior to the start date of this month's challenge. Hope to see you and your handmade backgrounds soon at Art Journal Journey.

  5. You created a great background with those envelope papers. I never looked at them so carefully to see how they have so many patterns. They work together in a good way. Happy new month to you. hugs-Erika

  7. Like Erika, I don't think I ever bothered to notice the different patterns of the security envelopes. The ones you chose are perfect for your theme. Rabbit, Rabbit
