T Stands For One Mug

I want to once again apologize.  I am still not well.  I want to begin by thanking everyone for your kind words and comments.  I tried Traude's Simple Homemade Re-hydration Drink but I must have gotten something wrong because before I could drink the entire glass, it all came back up.  I was even sicker than I had been before and everything I tried to drink tasted like metal.

Like Deb's husband, I also have lost weight.  I went from 105 to 101 lbs (47.6 to 45.8 kilograms) as of last week.  I haven't weighed this week.

I picked the first mug I photographed at The Spice Merchant the last time I was there.

I love this snarky mug.

By now you may know this mug was made by MUD.  On the top is Stay Positive, Be Kind, Enjoy Life, Every Day is a Gift.

I've shown you mine, now it's time to share your own drink related post.  It can be photos, a place you visited, movies, postcards, books, sketches, mixed media, drawings, paintings, tags, scrapbooking, or other art that is digital, hybrid, or traditional, as long as it in some way relates back to a drink, any drink.  Regardless, please share below and Bleubeard and I will gladly visit, as will other T participants.  Please link only your T post and not your blog in general.  Bleubeard would like to remind you that old photos are acceptable because they may be taken any time, not just on Tuesday and not just this year.  Please remember to visit your fellow T participants.

I promise to visit when I am well enough.

  8. If you're still having dehydration issues, try sipping Pedialyte (it doesn't taste great, but will do the trick). You can also try sipping Gatorade. There are less sugar varieties, too. I hope you feel better soon.

  11. That's a fun mug, and the boxes are just as much fun. I don't know if the box actually goes with this mug, but nevertheless, they made me smile.
I didn't smile when I read that you are still unwell. It is worrying that you are now also losing weight ( a logical consequence of not being able to keep food down). I do hope your health improves soon.
    All the best,
    Lisca

  15. Dear Elizabeth,

I’m so sorry to hear that you’re still feeling unwell and the drink didn't work – that sounds truly exhausting and must be taking a toll on you. Losing weight and not being able to keep even fluids down is worrying, especially with that metallic taste you mentioned. I wish there were an easy solution, but sometimes these symptoms can have different causes – from lingering infection or irritation in the stomach to side effects from medication, or even a bit of bleeding higher up in the digestive tract.

I know it’s so frustrating with the healthcare situation and costs, but please, if this keeps happening or you can’t keep liquids down, it would be wise to seek medical advice again if at all possible – even just a phone consultation or urgent care. Dehydration can become serious very quickly.

In the meantime, be very gentle with yourself. Try tiny sips of cool water, weak tea, or clear broth rather than a whole glass at once. If even that doesn’t stay down, don’t hesitate to reach out for help. I care about you and truly hope you’ll feel stronger very soon.

    Warmest thoughts and hugs,
    Traude
