Today I have an offering for Halle of Halle's Hobbies at Art Journal Journey. Halle is challenging us to think about Botanicals, which is her theme for July. Because I have multiple media, I am also joining Creative Artiste's 117th challenge, where the theme is always Anything Mixed Media Goes. Additionally, Try it on Tuesday's theme this fortnight is Summer Blooms, so I will join them, too. After all, summer is when these bee feed flowers bloom.

I think you see where I got the title of this latest post. Details are below.

This entry began when I found the unopened flower mix in my stash. I decided to color a partial page the same colors as the mix using water soluble crayons. I wish I had thought to color the bottom of the page, too, but didn't think of it until after the page had been assembled.
Once the page was dry, I began the assembly. I first layered pages of various foreign texts in place depending on size, beginning with the crumbling vintage sheet music. Once each had been glued in place, I added three labels from my stash. I tried to get two pages captured under each label. Finally, I added a row of what I have always been told is called German scrap to the bottom of one of the pages.
Wish my Bee Feed Flower Mix came out like this... What a happy creation!
ReplyDelete...Bee Feed, that's wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThis is a lovely piece. All the layers really work well together.
ReplyDeleteI like how the painted text page mimics the colors of the flowers.
ReplyDeleteNice
ReplyDeleteI really love your art with the sheet music.
ReplyDeleteLove the layered pages! Did you plant any of those seeds?? I've kind of went a bit crazy with planting flowers this year. :)
ReplyDeleteLove the colorful flowers. Nice page! :)
ReplyDeleteThat bee flower mix seed package is a piece of art. I love the design on it. And it works well with the layering too. The German metallic scrap paper looks great as a border also.It does dress up the page. I always call it that too, but then a couple of people commented that they didn't recognize that name. Let's see if you get the same response. I hope you're having a nice weekend. hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteOh and I forgot to say thanks for joining Try It on Tuesday also. It's a great summer bouquet for our challenge. :)
ReplyDeleteBeautifully using these different pages as a background and the bag of seeds in the middle again! A fantastic, imaginative journal page! I wish you a great start to the week.Hugs Elke
ReplyDeleteThe flower seeds packet so pretty and lovely combination of papers too
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining us at Try It On Tuesday
I am so happy you shared this beautiful page with us at TioT;s Fantastic layers and those seeds on the packed you added would be a great addition to any garden.
ReplyDeleteA wonderfully layered page. The colours on the seed packet focal point are so pretty and it's lovely that they are echoed in one of the pages below. Fabulous accents of interest in your page with the different snippets of text and music.
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining in with our July challenge "Anything Mixed Media Goes" at Creative Artiste Mixed Media. Good luck! x
A beautiful layered page, Elizabeth, for Halle's challenge at Art Journal Journey.
