Wishing for spring

I have another entry for Erika and her bird theme at Art Journal Journey.

This European starling is wishing for spring to arrive.  Food is rare in this environment.  Detail images are below.

I started by adding pink, yellow, and orange Staz-on reinkers to 91% isopropyl alcohol which I spread on 110 lb. cardstock.  I found the crossword in my neighbor's recycle box and the bird in a Mensa magazine.  I colored the crossword using red and yellow sharpies.  I fussy cut the bird and adhered it to the crossword.

Thanks more than you can imagine for taking this 22 day journey with me.  For Day 18 of 22, I recycled a bird from a magazine and repurposed a crossword found in a recycle box.  You will also find me at Art Journal Journey today.  Hope to see you there, too.

  2. I'm glad you showed the cherckerboard up close because I didn't notice it was a crossword puzzle. That's a super idea. And I like the little bird you used. I hope that starling finds some food, but I bet he will. Happy Friday and thanks for joining in at AJJ. hugs-Erika
