T Stands For Another Croissant

I created and scheduled a post for T just after lunch this afternoon and it seems to have disappeared.  I am creating another in case the first one doesn't publish.

Today we are back in my dining room where I will be sharing my meal and more tea sent to me by Iris.

I am pairing the tea with a turkey and cheese croissant which, I agree with Iris doesn't look like a normal croissant, but that is what the container called them, so I didn't argue.  I've also added a few more cherry tomatoes and coleslaw I bought over the weekend.  If you are not sure what coleslaw is, it consists primarily of finely shredded raw cabbage with either (a usually sour) vinaigrette or (a usually sweet) salad dressing or mayonnaise.

I want to talk a bit about cheese.  When you buy cheese slices, make sure they are labeled 100% cheese, not "pasteurized prepared cheese product," which is only required to contain 51% real cheese.

This tea is called Skinni Vanilli and smelled so good when I removed the teabag from the package.  Iris left a comment last week showing how displeased she was with me taking so long to share the tea she sent me.

I am a coffee drinker.  I drink it 24/7.  However, I forgot to take my camera into The Spice Merchant on the 28th, the same day I voted.  Therefore, I have no new mug photos to show, so I will be sharing tea Iris sent, at least till the end of this month.  Because it was so close to the end of the month, I was able to get two pounds of "free" coffee (one for October and one for November).

This smelled so good.  I was surprised how quickly it turned dark.

This will be the final time I can use my autumn leaves mug until next autumn.

I've shown you mine, now it's time to share your own drink related post.  It can be photos, a place you visited, movies, postcards, books, sketches, mixed media, drawings, paintings, tags, scrapbooking, or other art that is digital, hybrid, or traditional, as long as it in some way relates back to a drink, any drink.  Regardless, please share below and Bleubeard and I will gladly visit, as will other T participants.  Please link only your T post and not your blog in general.  Bleubeard would like to remind you that old photos are acceptable because they may be taken any time, not just on Tuesday and not just this year.

  2. As you imply, the term croissant is now applied to several types of rolls, no longer limited to a crescent-shaped pastry made with very flaky dough that’s made by a special process. We have to face it: food definitions and recipes change all the time.
Good of you to keep sponsoring the weekly tea party!

  3. Your lunch looks yummy, except I don't like so much sauce in my coleslaw. And yes, your croissant doesn't look very traditional shaped, but it still looks yummy. Did it taste flaky and croissant like? And your tea looks good to me, not being a coffee drinker. Nice mug too. It's very seasonal. I hope you have a great T day. hugs-Erika

  5. Ph. No matter what this is calledI´d LOVE to have siuch a croissant!
And we have coleslaw in the fridge... need to look if it´s still good...
Yes, always buy real cheese! Most chains here sell this substitute stuff, hence I don´t buy.

What? No! I was not displeased! Just wondering cause tea looses it´s taste over time and I have no idea what it does when having to fly...
    Not displeased, please!

  6. Yes, I agree, it doesn't look like a croissant. Mae describes one perfectly. But as long as you enjoyed it, the name doesn't matter.
Your tea looks lovely . I'm not familiar with that flavour but I know Clipper do lovely infusions. I am a tea drinker (not real black tea, only herbal infusions) but in summer it's just too hot. I drink coffee in the morning and cold drinks the rest of the day. (yes, cold tea too). I have started to drink to again as it's getting colder.
    Happy T-Day

  7. That looks like a lovely lunch. Vanilla tea is my favorite. There's just something so comforting about the smell and taste of vanilla. Happy T Day

  8. That looks like a croissant to me, more or less. At least the pastry part!

  9. I do love vanilla so the tea sounds great. I made vegan croissants before, it was tricky because you have to keep the "butter" cold in order to fold into the layers to make the flaky pastry and using vegan "butter" meant that it didn't stay cold the same way as normal butter. I had to keep putting it in the fridge while I was making it. I also love coleslaw, though I generally make my own as commercial coleslaws seem to be full of sugar here. They also don't have to be made with cabbage though cabbage is traditional. I have a great veggie cookbook that has dozens of different coleslaws in it. Happy T day!
