I'm once again joining Try it on Tuesday, where their theme this fortnight is using Book Pages.
I found the beautiful image in my stash while I was recently de-stashing. And because the colors make me happy, I am also sharing this with What Makes You Happy, which is Matilde's theme, our host this month at Art Journal Journey. You can find Matilde at 100% Handmade/Craftowanie.
I began by tearing lots of pieces of book pages to create a background. It was like a jigsaw puzzle, but some of the pages overlapped a bit. Using the focal image as a guideline, I used watercolor pencils to color the book pages. Some of the book pages took the colors better than others. I used four lavender/purple, two beige, and one green watercolors.
Thanks for dropping by today. Bleubeard and I hope to see you at Art Journal Journey and Try it on Tuesday.
Creative and lovely.

ReplyDeleteHi Elizabeth. I love the collage of book pages and that beautiful image. It's a great page.
ReplyDeleteI miss art journaling, I'm going to try a junk journal challenge in July in the hope that it will motivate me.
Hope all's well with you and the cats.

ReplyDeleteThis is a really pretty page. In love how you tore up the book page and used different colors on the background. Those colors work well with your images. And you were able to join 2 challenges!!! Thanks for linking up to TIOT, and this looks perfect for AJJ and Matilde's challenge. It's another rainy weekend morning here.
