T Stands For Tea with Ian McNeice (Part 2) and gifts received

Some of you were here on Friday when I shared these photos of Ian McNeice and Victor Hogstrom, President and CEO of PBS Kansas.

 Per my weekly newsletter:

PBS Kansas Channel 8 hosted an afternoon with Ian McNeice, the English actor who plays Bert Large on Doc Martin. President & CEO Victor Hogstrom lead off the questions, then Mr. McNeice took questions from the audience. Our guests enjoyed light refreshments and were treated to hot tea from The Spice Merchant. Finally, Mr. McNeice took photos and autographed everyone’s tea cups!

Bob and Sue Boewe, owners of The Spice Merchant, who provided the tea and paid for the event.

He shared many stories, including when he played Albert Fezziwig, the kind and generous first boss of Ebenezer Scrooge (in A Christmas Carol).

I was snapping away

when I realized

these various tea containers would be perfect for T Tuesday.

But now it was time to open my gifts and cards I received.

I'll share more of Ian McNeice next Tuesday T.

My friend Sally gave me a Christmas pumpkin pie, which I have already eaten.  Not a crumb in sight.

I'll begin with the cards I received.  Not sure why, but at Christmas, they (USPS) love to obliterate as much of the stamp as they can.

This handmade beauty came from my dear friend Erika.  I even love the detail on the envelope and of course, the candies.  Thank you for this beauty, dear Erika.

This postage stamp wasn't as obliterated as the first one,  Still, it was obviously cancelled.

I loved the snowflakes Carola stamped on the envelope.

Isn't Carola's card adorable.  Look at those snow balls and the snowflake ribbon she used on this adorable card she colored perfectly.  Thank you beyond belief, Carola.  I had to laugh at something she wrote was her postage stamp was boring.

Speaking of postage stamps, this gem sent to me by Linda Manning Findley didn't have a postage stamp.  I was lucky it didn't get returned to Linda.  I love the Santa washi tape and Linda's great card.  Thank you very, very, very much, dear Linda.

My final card was actually a tip-in.

I love the envelope and label Dianne colored

both front and back.

It was from the incredibly talented

What a beautiful sentiment and colored beautifully, too.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Dianne.

I've had this gift since November.  It took forever to get the gift unwrapped because of the amount of tape my dear friend uses.

As you can see, this is from my dear friend Mia of Craftartista.  The lace was taped to the styrofoam box.

Tea is very appropriate for T Tuesday.  These Yogi teas sound good.

Lovely fabric I can make something with.

Lots of goodies, including my very first ever Posca pen.

Gem stickers, thread, glittery bell and clothes pin, and rocking horse buttons!  LOVE.

A lovely towel from Crete

and an explanation.

Feathers, old postage stamps, and the ATC for me I accidentally returned to Mia with the other ATCs and napkins.  You are far too kind, dear Mia.  I am beyond grateful dear friend.

Next is this gift I realized who sent it after seeing who it was addressed to.

We know who mailed it.

Now we know my dear friend RO! sent it.

And now everyone knows it's a golden Waterford rocking horse decoration.  Let's unwrap it together.

I was blown away.  Thank you more than you will ever know, dear RO!.

Practical gifts

like this blanket I can use on my lap when I'm on the computer, are thoughtful gifts from my friend Sally.

Now it's time to make some tea.

It's time for you to share your own drink related post.  It can be gifts you received, photos, a place you visited, movies, postcards, mail art, junk mail, catalogs, books, sketches, mixed media, drawings, paintings, handmade cards, tags, scrapbooking, or other art that is digital, hybrid, or traditional, a favorite mug, cup and saucer, teapot, coffee pot, or even a wine glass. Regardless, please join us by linking below.  Bleubeard and I will gladly visit, as will other T participants.  Please link only your T post and not your blog in general.  Bleubeard would like to remind you that old photos are acceptable because they may be taken any time, not just on Tuesday and not just this year.  Please remember to visit your fellow T participants.

I would be remiss if I didn't remind you it is time to dig up your Second on the 2nd.   Any story you choose as long as it HAS BEEN published in the past.

I couldn't get the preview to load, so I have NO idea if the linky shows and I made any errors.

Now I can't get blogger to load.  Not sure why this is happening.

  1. You got some lovely gifts for Christmas, Elizabeth. The cards are gorgeous! I love that Santa washi tape - I think Santa looks more like a gnome, really cute. You will love your Posca pen I'm sure - I know that I love the two I own. Thank you for hosting T Tuesday the entire year of 2022, I look forward to more drinks in 2023. All the best for the new year, my friend.

  2. Your blog took FOREVER to load! I tried several times, on both Chrome and Safari. I’m afraid there may be something wrong.

Thanks for hosting: I finally managed to link.

  3. Your visit at your local PBS and getting to meet Ian NcNeice sounds like a holiday highlight, seeing the cold and loss of power didn't probably give you a very merry holiday. I'm glad my card arrived. And that is a great packet from Mia. I can't wait to see what you do with the lace. And that's a fabulous ornament from Ro. And that was sweet of Mia to include those rocking horse buttons. Your holiday gifts were certainly another highlight of your Christmas. I hope you have a wonderful end to 2022, and that it warms up very soon. hugs-Erika

  14. I got busy last night and forgot to link my post, however Kathy and Erica found me , anyway! Our family arrived about seven last night, and I forgot everything but them. They were cold and we had soup ready for them. They had driven over 15 hours!
I enjoyed your sharing of your wonderful time with Ian at PBS, and your lovely gifts! I love the Zentangleing , blanket, that rocking horse, and oh, so many other goodies! What a great time of opening gifts you had! It is too funny that we sent Mia her own ATC back! But, remembering that day, I can see how it happened! Fun! Makes me laugh even now. Stay warm, Elizabeth! I think it is going to warm up tomorrow. Happy T Day!

  25. First of all, I adore all your Christmas ARt! It's perfect. And second, I would have all but killed to attend this event. I love Ian MacNeice! I adore him on Doc Martin -- but I didn't realize till I found a program from seeing "The King's Speech" on stage in London in 2012 that I saw him as Winston Churchill! I remember the performance but wasn't familiar with him as an actor at that time. He's had quite the career but Bert is iconic! Thanks for this!
