Now that Thanksgiving is over, it's time to start thinking about Christmas. It's sad, but true Bleubeard and I are hosting Art Journal Journey for the very last time this month with our themes Collage Fodder, Food and Drink, or both.
EDIT: I am NOT stepping away from Art Journal Journey (AJJ), as some of you believe based on the comments. My month of hosting is over today. Bleubeard and I are still two of five administrators of AJJ. We will welcome a new host tomorrow. Sorry you misunderstood my lead in.
Bleubeard and I are getting in the mood for Christmas with bits of collage fodder.
We've even provided a few detail photos.
Santa and child were a napkin I had in my stash.
I used a variety of vintage type holiday images. The top left red and white paper reminded me of candies I received in my stocking when I was a child. I fussy cut the Santa and child, the focal image of the page. I needed one final piece of vintage paper, so I opted for the vintage sheet music. Holly, candy canes, and tiny trees added a feeling of Christmas. The zig zag paper seemed to match the vintage paper, so I included it.
Bleubeard and I
are overjoyed you visited today and are so happy you joined us this month at Art Journal Journey. You still have today to share your own version of Collage Fodder, Food and Drink, or both.
We are also joining
AEDM.
Kelly will provide the final Treasure Trovember assignment later this morning, so I will share that on the 3rd of December when I share my calendar pages. And PLEASE don't forget your Second on the 2nd, where we share a post that has been published in the past.
I am sad that you are stepping away - and thank you for all that you have shared.
ReplyDeleteOh, sad the Food and Drink is over, was fun to join (if not often, bare with me, 10 hours yesterday again...)!
ReplyDeleteThat girl cracks me up! Reaching up to Santa!
I was always very, VERY afraid of that man (I was a good girl, always ;-)...)
Sweet page and now I have Christmas music in my head!
Beautiful collage, Elizabeth, have a great day, hugs!
ReplyDeleteThese were terrific choices! I love it that you went vintage. Great collage. Since you are stepping away from Art Journal Journey, will you be replacing it with something else?
ReplyDeleteI love this last piece for your theme. Thanks for hosting you chose a great theme
ReplyDeleteLove the vintage pic of the little girl reaching up to Santa!! So cute. Wonderful page. :)
ReplyDeleteElizabeth, that Santa and little girl image is just adorable. And placing the image atop your stacked Christmas papers is perfect! This is a wonderfully effective collage design.
ReplyDeleteIt was a super month at AJJ Elizabeth, and I am still collaging as I make December pages. I became very inspired. There were so many new collage ideas; the month was an A+ one. (The teacher is me is coming out-ha ha). It was a great topic. I like how you ended the month with a Christmas page. It's perfect now that Thanksgiving is over. Nice papers too. Holiday-ish and fun. Hope the month wraps up in a good way for you. hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteI love your xmas themed page, that santa napkin looks great. Thanks for hosting this month, sorry I wasn't able to join in as much as I would have liked (I love collage!) but I did just manage one last page for this month!
ReplyDeleteCommunication can be difficult, can't it, even when we think we're being clear.
ReplyDeleteI'm ready for the Christmas decorations :)
Lovely!
ReplyDeleteThe Vintage Santa image is so sweet! Really love your mix of patterns and the music sheet collage mixed in here! Glad that you've cleared up that you are NOT leaving AJ Journey my friend!! Really enjoy the challenges! Thanks for your continued support and sharing!
ReplyDeleteI loved this. Cheerful and festive.
ReplyDeleteTake special care, dear Elizabeth.
Lovely Christmas vibe to this one Elizabeth and Bleubeard. I know I only joined in once a week but i did enjoy doing the collage and thinking how I could incorporate food and/or drink. Thank you for a lovely theme.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Neet xxx
Those festive patterns are just perfect for the season.
