T Stands For Back To The Spice Merchant

I am taking you once again to The Spice Merchant.  But first, I want to explain that I will be offline starting on Wednesday.  I am not sure how long I will be gone, but starting on Wednesday, I will be at the Sedgwick County Courthouse where I will wait to be called for voir dire.  Voir dire is the process by which a jury is selected from questions given by both the prosecutor and defense attorneys.  I have been told this will not take over three days and could be less, depending on where and when I am called, and if I am dismissed or accepted by both sides.

I have been assured this court never sequesters a jury and most cases last no longer than four days.  Please visit me before Wednesday morning if you want me to leave a comment.  Bleubeard doesn't know how to turn on the computer, so he will be no help, except to look adorable!

I am not sure what these are, but I think they are cards.  Stickers are included according to the package.  I'll check the next time I go.

I found several of these I thought were great, including The Scream!  Poe and Alice would be good for this month's challenge Elle has given us at Art Journal Journey.

I was on a mission, and spent no time at all, snapping a few shots as I headed for the coffee beans.  Still, this is just another small section of this incredible store.

Items on the top shelf are not for sale, but are in the collection of Bob and his wife who own the store.  Those pots alone could cover a T Tuesday post.

It looks like a Hot Chocolate kind of day,

at least according to Gourmet Village whose site sells these for $9.50 (USD) which makes four cups of hot chocolate.  If they still have some the next time I return, I will probably buy a few.

Their seasonal and Christmas goodies are already out.  Would someone like to buy me that cardinal mug for Christmas (JOKE)?

Peruse,

enjoy.

Travel mugs that seemed

incredibly expensive.

These are adorable.

These mugs come with their own butterfly.

Now it's time to share your own drink related post.  It can be gifts you received, photos, a place you visited, movies, postcards, mail art, junk mail, catalogs, books, sketches, mixed media, drawings, paintings, handmade cards, tags, scrapbooking, or other art that is digital, hybrid, or traditional, a favorite mug, cup and saucer, teapot, coffee pot, or even a wine glass. Regardless, please join us by linking below.  Bleubeard and I will gladly visit, as will other T participants.  Please link only your T post and not your blog in general.  Bleubeard would like to remind you that old photos are acceptable because they may be taken any time, not just on Tuesday and not just this year.  Please remember to visit your fellow T participants.

  2. What an amazing store. I could happily spend hours there (and probably lots of money too).
Good luck on Wednesday. Your presence in the blogosphere will be missed.

  4. That looks like a very enjoyable store to shop in — lots of nice mugs. I am very familiar with The Unemployed Philosophers’ Guild that makes the cards on the racks you showed. The Guild also makes very clever stuffed toys and finger puppets of famous people from Freud to RBJ to Jane Austen to Sherlock Holmes and many more, and quite a lot of other entertaining things. I don’t really own much of it, but I have chosen many gifts from their products. Of course I have the Mona Lisa card, and the stuffed toy of Leonardo da Vinci. All very clever!

I hope your jury duty goes well.

  5. That seems to be a very dangerous store! I'm not sure I could get out of there without doing considerable damage to my finances. Hopefully your jury duty goes well. I find the selection process interesting, even though I was never chosen for actual jury duty.

  7. What a cute shop. I have sent cards from that series and they're fun -- I like the stockers, too. Quotes and visuals that match the person (maybe a quill pen for Jane Austen, a magnifying glass for Holmes, etc.) Good luck with the jury.

  8. This is definitely a great shop. Those mugs all look so fun. I'm glad I don't live nearby only because I would want to buy a new mug every time I went in. Smile. And those people you showed at the beginning of your post are cards. I had a couple of Darwin ones; one for a fellow bio teacher's birthday and one I used in my retirement journal. They are really fun, aren't they? Have a wonderful T day, and I hope your Voir dire goes well. hugs-Erika

  13. What a great store that is! I could spend hours in there. The mugs are gorgeous. I love the butterfly one.
Interesting to learn about the process of choosing a jury. Keep us posted.
As you can see I haven’t been able to write a post. I’m still in Granada in the hospital with Graham. He might be sent home tomorrow if he can tolerate food. So far he’s had soups and yoghurts so I hope they’ll try him on solids today.
    Happy T Day,
    Hugs

  16. Love when you post pictures from this fabulous shop. I googled to see if it was a chain and I might be able to find one around here, but no such luck and you have this lovely gem only in your area. Lucky you! I did find some similar stores in places I sometimes visit so maybe one day I can find something like it. Hope you find some hot chocolate when you go back.

Good luck on jury duty - hope you get picked if you want to be and not picked if you want out. I know you would be a wonderful juror.

    Happy T-day and hugz

  17. So many beautiful things to look at but I think the cards were my favorite! Looks like a place that I could get lost in for hours, just browsing.
    Happy Tea Day,

    Great store for getting photos.

  19. I have never been called. It's odd, because I know people who've been called several times. I trust the process will be an easy one.

I love all those mugs! Most mugs these days are oversized, and I always look for smaller ones. I see a few options in that shop :) Happy T Tuesday

  20. We've been called, but never actually gone. We get a letter saying we are on the list! Hope it goes quickly and well! See you sometime!

  24. Oh Elizabeth, please keep on going to the Spice Tailor shop- there's so much to see in every photo- I've been here a while! I hope your jury service passes by quickly! My Mum was once objected to and found out that it was a young rapist who thought that as a middle aged woman she probably wouldn't be sympathetic towards him. She only told us several years aferwards. Hugs, Chrisx
