Gold and red

I'm once again joining my friend Sheila, who many of you know as Orange Esmeralda, our host this month at Art Journal Journey.    This may be my final entry at  Art Journal Journey this month, although I'm going to try to make one final entry on Wednesday.  It all depends on blogger and how much time I have available.

This is my gold and red single flower.

Once the images were removed from my camera,

this looked so very simple.

However, I have no feed dogs that drop on my very simple Singer sewing machine that is older than old,

so this was quite a feat.

For this page, I started with a flower I found in a very old calendar.  I attached it to a sheet of 110 lb cardstock for stability by sewing the pages together using yellow, red, blue, and green variegated thread.

Thanks for joining Bleubeard and me today.  We are truly delighted you stopped by.  We would also like to see you at Art Journal Journey.  There's still time to join in.

And in case this is my final entry this month, I want to thank Sheila for hosting.  She has done an excellent job, both visiting every person who posted their art, and sharing her own art in the process.  I'm simply thrilled I talked her into hosting, because this has been a great experience for me, and a joy to see her art so often this month.  Thank you beyond belief, dear Sheila.  Bleubeard gives you two paws up, too.

  3. Nice work with the stitching, Elizabeth, I know that is not easy. And another clever and different idea for our AJJ theme appears from your ever-creative brain.
I am so happy to get two paws up from Bleubeard, there can be no finer accolade. I've had a ball this month, visiting so many other artists, seeing original and fascinating artwork on the theme, meeting new friends and revisiting old friends.
    Love from Sheila

  4. I love the stitching around some of the petals. It really changes the view. Especially with the pretty variegated thread, one of the best thread inventions I think. Nice post for AJJ! Hope your week starts off well and I will see you later for T. Hugs-Erika

  6. What lovely stitching :) It adds so much to the flower. I imagine it's hard stitch around them.
